Would it be this by any chance? Reg doesn't quite match but it's close enough and I doubt there's 2 primered Testarossa Spiders driving around the UK.
And that's why eye witnesses are notoriously poor sources of accurate information.

It was indeed that one with that plate on it.

Quite the project he has on his hands.

A beauty of an early Series 1 E-Type staying at the Chateau we were in close to Épernay.

Could there be a better car for summer touring Champagne vineyards? cool

Just done your search but Google doesn't flag anything up to substantiate your claim that Walkinshaw made a few road-going versions of their Silk Cut Le Mans cars. That oft-sighted home-built replica registered 224SMP does appear in the Google images, but that's it.
I've never heard of these either. What they did make was a about 30 road-going (from a total of 50, including the racing versions) XJR-15, which were based on the chassis of the Le Mans XJR-9, but looked nothing like it.

Ok, so it was a replica I saw. I could only see top half as the barrier blocked more of the view

This morning on the M42 at Solihull around 8am...three Porsche GT3's [two of the RS's], driving in convoy. Couldn't take a pic as I was driving. They looked stunning in the flesh, compared to pics.

I wonder where they were going [they headed down the M40]?

I noticed that two of the occupants had a glance of my Forester STi as they passed...pretty sound owning a car that draws the attention of owners of such expensive machinery!

Just before I saw the Volvo in my last post I saw a blotchy primer coloured Testarossa Spider with the VRM "TRS 123" drive past. The door vents and mirrors were red.

That reg comes up on .gov.uk as a silver Ferarri so it seems legit but it looked very odd.

I'm annoyed that I didn't get my phone out in time as I've never seen anything like it!

It's called "Ratarossa" I believe

Ah, I see what I did. I skimmed. Had I read it thoroughly I would have seen I was deceived.

Enthusiasm triumphs over thorough investigation.

Apologies.

Those Cosworth wheels were re manufactured few years ago in 18'" for the blokes who wanted OEM look but needed

bigger wheels to fit over bigger brakes.

The Monte wheels were also re produced in 18".

In limited numbers for both types AFAIK.

Where's that blushing smilie? The funny thing is that the factory sync'd their production figures with mine a few years ago. nerd
I've been in touch with amongst others Ruf about similar work on their production but I'm afraid I don't have the bandwidth.
Haha! That’s actually a really impressive achievement - genuinely!

Independent of the motivation and discipline I think it must extremely satisfying for anyone when they look back, if they can point to an excellent body of work that’s theirs and is judged as definitive.

Very interesting to hear about the RUF thing - I hope you do find the time, or they make it an offer you can’t refuse. It’d be worth it, especially for them....

Which day were you there Tim? Saw most of those on the Saturday, plus two 993 GT2s in the BRDC car park.
