Spotted a McLaren MP4-12c yesterday on the A38 east bound out of Mansfield towards the M1 jct28. Very restrained driving considering the 70 limit...

Ok - probably not a super car - but a filthy dirty 993 Turbo out in Bath has to be in with a shout?

One of my all time dream cars...

My best spot of last year was back in the Summer, in a small South Wales town, when I thought I saw a Bugatti Veyron coming around a roundabout. Managed to get behind it a mile further on only to realize it was actually a Chiron. Followed it for a couple of miles around the area. A very rare spot around there.

Spotted this Morgan Aero 8 a week or 2 ago, definitely looking a little worse for wear...

230(?)TE would have been a good spot on its own.
...and is that a classic coach in background, maybe an Italian job rep? and a Merc CE
I know (kinda) where this is. I didn't spot the bus until you mentioned it, but this is in the Black Country near Dudley. They often have interesting cars parked along those houses. I saw a blower Bentley there a few months ago...

He'll have a few pre-war Bentleys in at any one time, he restores them.

TBH. I prefer LHD on fast stuff.
Why?
One example - because if it is a 3-pedal car than the set up / positioning of the pedals is better (actually also applies to some 2-pedal cars, but less important)

yes

Most cars have been designed to be LHD first and then "modified" to be RHD. Often pedal/seat/wheel alignment is off slightly. But also stuff like switchgear is wrong. A friend bought the new Merc A Class last year (aside from the numerous faults that resulted in them buying the thing back and getting her another one! eek ) The electric hand brake button was completely obscured by the steering wheel!

The black trim to the right has the headlight switch, the roller for brightness of controls. And hidden by the steering wheel the release for the hand brake.

Heres the same car but LHD.

Its the exact same light switch. Only because its on the left hand side. Now you can see the hand brake button. And obscured is the brightness for the interior lights. Which you never touch anyway.

I mean don't get me wrong it was a pile of st that refused top unlock/lock. The gear selector is on the column and made of probably the cheapest plastic on the planet! The infotainment is as unintuitive as trying to fly a space shuttle on a provisional car licence. The steering wheel controls were also ste!

But it just made me think that Mercedes didn't give a st about non LHD variants.

Little things biggrin

Of course, I also subscribe to the "little bit more interesting" ascetic. And if you want something a bit more limited in availability. There are generally more LHD versions of it on sale in Europe.

Obviously a daily should always be RHD though, just because car parks and the like are a bit easier. But cars you'll only drive occasionally....

I'd say that's just a ridiculous place to have a hand brake button anyway, it's just un-natural. I know the levers of old are long gone in most cars but you still instinctively put your hand on the center console when stopping.

It was parked up with the F40 on the seafront another time, I think they were having a coffee in the cafe. I've only seen it that one time.

That will have been Mark with the Bugatti, the owner of Trade Centre Wales, not chatted to him for a long time, I heard he now owns Jay Kays green La Ferrari. The F40 owner is called Alvin I think. Mark had a great RS Ford collection for quite some time, something like 5 RS500s in it at one stage, and quite a few RS500 Focus inc . number 1. I bet Andy with the white RS500 would have been out with them as well.

WRT the above Rolls Royce tow car pictures, near to me there is a family business that used to have wedding cars and seems to buy and sell various older RR and Bentley stuff.

Outside recently was one of these (not actual car)

Towing a trailer loaded with one of these (again not the actual car)

If I see it again, I promise to stop and take a picture
Edinburgh?
The pics are just random shots from the net to show the types of car

I actually saw the combo of Rolls Royce tow car and Aston Martin Lagonda on a trailer in Bristol

yes

Had to move a colleague's GLC before Xmas...genuinely took me 5 minutes to find the handbrake release (little chromed rocker, half-hidden on the lower-dash panel next to the driver's door, i.e. about knee-height - the sort of location you'd expect a bonnet release. WTAF?!?)

Mercedes have long had foot-operated handbrakes with the brake release handle in that location.

Good spot, it’s a display (false) plate - it had a regular Japanese registration on the rear.

Might just be the light but the front end of that 993 is a completely different shade to the rear.
Great photo’s by the way.
