Had to move a colleague's GLC before Xmas...genuinely took me 5 minutes to find the handbrake release (little chromed rocker, half-hidden on the lower-dash panel next to the driver's door, i.e. about knee-height - the sort of location you'd expect a bonnet release. WTAF?!?)
Mercedes have long had foot-operated handbrakes with the brake release handle in that location.
This.

My 2001 CLK was set up like this. Not super-intuitive, but not dreadful.

That 993 is utterly ruined by the side skirts over the black wheel arch protector. WTF were they thinking?

They were probably wondering how much hyperbole they could generate

If that's a poorly aimed dig at me, do you think they look good?

No, but they haven't utterly ruined the car.

They have for me. It's extremely ill conceived.

Always great shots to enjoy from you.... thanks. smile

Is running a supercar massively expensive in Japan?
Broadly speaking I would say no more expensive than in the UK - new car prices are similar, financing deals probably cheaper (see below), but servicing and parts more expensive as there is less competition/fewer non-franchise specialists. Parts for older cars also often have to be shipped from overseas, increasing costs and repair times.

Depreciation is also heavier here - domestic supercar buyers typically want to buy new, and pre-owned cars are often sold to the Middle East, Germany or Canada (LHD, km markets) depending on prevailing exchange rates.

Continental GT at 2.49%:

Might just be the light but the front end of that 993 is a completely different shade to the rear.
Great photo’s by the way.
Just the light - it looked fine, although something of a mishmash of parts/specification.

I took the photo because it looked different - not necessarily good or bad, but a look I hadn’t seen before.

Likewise with the purple Aventador which I find much harder on the eyes...

Had to pop into Avantgarde in Clevedon to check something on my SLK.

Managed to get parked to his Big, Big, Big Brother !

Then I spotted this through the work Shop window...

1996 F200 concept. V12, controlled by joystick ! Owned by someone connected to the Qatari Royal Family. Apparently only 2 of these in the world according the Steve and worth approx 10M !

Could you get something like the Bentley in RHD if you wanted to, or would the be equivalent of ordering brown paint work and a red interior?

Either that one or it’s brother was on display at Mercedes Benz World, Brooklands when I was last there a couple of years ago. I don’t know where that bloke gets the £10 million value from. It may have cost that to develop and build as a concept car, but I can’t see anyone paying much for it.

It’s possible to order in RHD - I do see the occasional RHD Bentley, Ferrari or Rolls-Royce about town - but LHD examples are far more common.

justice.

I'm sure in every other way that Senna is an epic machine?

Visually though, I think it looks like something that would have done the rounds on a Max Power type, retail park Saturday night out.
