The design of the Senna is abysmal, McLaren always try to excuse the design by telling everyone 'engineering and aerodynamics dictates the design' which of course is half-bks.

Perhaps you could inform me, having never had the opportunity to see both side by side to compare, is the Bora essentially Merak with a V8 and slightly different buttresses/rear lid, or are they substantially different models? TIA.

Essentially the same. They were developed alongside one another, with the Merak intended to be a lower cost, higher volume seller.
