Such an odd badge to see on a car like this. This particular example was filthy and covered in mould. The front view is ridiculous with its grill and vents but couldn’t get a pic!
Hi there,

I have a real thing for Cygnets, I just know I am going to own one quite soon.
Think they are a pretty sound investment if bought right.
I missed out on one last year at £27,950 which is still sat at a dealer, problem is he's now put the price up to £32,950 :-)

I really like this one, pretty sure its one of the ex motorshow cars enhanced by Q

Investment in what way? We know that ICE engines are on the way out and there are going to be more and more restrictions on their use.

Are you going to want to get up early on a Sunday and go for a drive in a Cygnet?

Are you going to want to polish it to an inch of its life and park in a field with other Cygnets so the owner who did the most polishing can get a medal?

Are you going to go into your garage and just marvel at its looks?

I can't see these becoming desirable classics that people will want to own once there are additional hassles in owning an old ICE vehicle. It's not exactly going to match a DB5 in the desirability stakes.

You'll spend 30K to drive about in a small Toyota with some Aston Martin bling but you might as well spend the money on an Aston V8 vantage which will surely give you more pleasure.

Maybe the depreciation on the 30K will be slow, but you could spend 5K on a Toyota IQ, which can't lose more than 5K, which sounds like a better investment to me.

Really don't understand your logic.

It's a very rare car, wearing a badge that is synonymous with collectors.

While the car itself might not be that great, when has that ever stopped cars from appreciating in value?

People were probably having the same conversation when Minis and mk1/2 Escorts were getting scrapped in the 90s because they were worth a more to be weighed in.

It might not be the most obvious punt, but it's certainly not as illogical as you've made pains to try and explain.

Odd looking supercar.
I'd argue that am M8 Comp, at £123k + options, 625bhp and a 3 second 0-60 is quite 'super', and probably quite rare. wink

That is their test car - I drove it the other day (from that very spot). Great fun but a bit too raw and "full on" for my tastes.

This is a better video.

What an amazing looking and sounding car...I'd love to see it as a proper open top without the roof.

Good video as well, not come across that reviewer before but he's very watchable

The hard top is removable so you can have a hard top and a roadster (and a sort of targa). So three cars in one.

I dont think that 'investment' pays off when you can be seen driving about it one. The pointing and laughing will get a bit wearisome.

This doesn't happen so your point is pointless.
Er, yes, yes it does. I have seen it happen.

satin/matte finishes have really not aged well, IMHO. They look like st wraps for like 20 times the price.

I’d like to know how these finishes age physically as well as stylistically.

Agreed.

A friend has a C63S coupe. Lovely car. Great engine. But it's matte grey. And that ruins the whole thing for me completely.

Spotted in City of London yesterday. Ferrari Roma, with ears. Looked stunning, even with the current paint scheme.

Hi there,

Was lucky enough to spend a couple of hours with this car on Tuesday.
Central London traffic was perhaps not the best experience so I am really looking forward to when their UK demo arrives in July when I am booked again to experience it out on the Epsom Downs.

The car is really well put together and the removable top and interchangeable rear decks make this a very usable sports car.
