The Jaguar was initially supposed to have two micro turbines as range extenders for the battery. Quite cool (and hot).

Getting close to another of my favourites

it is awesome. Is that a real car though?
Jaguar C-X75, which was supposed to be Jaguar's answer to the Porsche 918, McLaren P1 etc, but never made it to production. It was in one of the Bond films, and some of the driveable stunt cars from that have made it out into the world.
There was a lightly used one on display at the Bond in Motion exhibition during the F1 at Silverstone in 2019. I feel the black accents went slightly too far on this one, however…

Nice colour Giulia Quadrifoglio in Leigh-On-Sea today, shame about the “4D” and badly spaced plates.

The one bit that doesn't work for me is the shoulder / c-pillar area. MC20 isn't alone in that regard...lot of modern cars look jarring there, particularly those with intakes in that area.
It’s not just modern cars …

wow! Yes I seem to recall these were in a bond film but wasn't sure if that first pic was a render or something. Cool.
First pic is off a website rather than a spotted.

Jaguar never built a production version of the C-X75 but (according to wiki) three prototypes were auctioned off including the Sceptre car.
Hi,

Yep and the prototypes do occassionally come up for sale.

Kaaimans have had one for sale for a little while

It’s not just modern cars …

I’ve always assumed that new cars with those intakes were trying to give a “classic” look. The 296 was designed with a picture of a 250 lm and some tracing paper.

In the case of the 296 you're right.

...but it doesn't stop it looking st. I'd have a 250SWB, GTO or Cali in half a heartbeat, absolutely sublime creations. But the LM just looks wrong.

PS - slightly o/t, but as we're talking old Ferraris, have a look at this. Volume up from 4.10

Is that the one that's been spotted in Alderley Edge recently? What a car

I thought it looked good as well, not in a beautiful way but well proportioned. And a bit different

The 250LM wasn’t designed to ‘look nice’ it was designed to win races.

The last Ferrari to win Le Mans.

Understand that.

...but it does make it weird that Ferrari decided to ape the look for their road cars...

See, I think the 296 looks incredible in the metal, and you can really see the 1960s influences and departure from recent, more angular, Ferrari styling.

To each his own, I guess!
