Are the wheels about to fall of car finance?

I'm going to close my interest in this thread by saying when the recession comes everyone should ensure that they have enough savings to cover all outgoings to companies for >2yrs if we loose our jobs.
Beit cash purchase, PCP, lease etc on top of all our monthly outgoings.
>2 years?Beit cash purchase, PCP, lease etc on top of all our monthly outgoings.
Whilst i take your point - two years??
If someones skillset / abilities are that poor that they cant get ANY job for > 2 years, then they should be seeking to resolve that NOW rather than burning through their savings when the recession comes.

You would say majority , I would say minority.
I remember before 2007/08 people like you were saying that subprime was minority and there's no chance in the world anything bad could happen. The fact that people are only interested in monthlies and don't care about purchase price, interest rates, term length can of course could be totally by accident. Or perhaps they are duped into it by shyster tactics, like the ones presented in this little training video.WTF has sub prime mortgages got to do with anything ? Yes there is lot of dodgy lending going on but just because a few people don't understand primary school level maths does not make pcp lending bad.

What recession, I thought the Brexiteers were leading us to the land of milk and honey.
You mean with huge walls, guns, roadblocks, checkpoints, apartheid travel policies etc?well I suppose you _could_ view it like that, although ideally we wouldn't be stealing from and murdering the natives, I feel that would be a step to far TBH.
Plus I'm not sure about parting the English Channel, terribly inconvenient for shipping.

People like me do understand the difference between minority and majority though and dont feel the need to keep changing the argument every time you start losing.
Bro, are you bragging or complaining? As much as I'd like to give you a hug and tell you that you're right I'm sorry but you and daemon are minority (this time in absolute terms, I thought I explain it for you both).liner33 said:

I don't know mate, looks like you and daemon must be sharing the same 56k modem connection and some things don't load for you as quickly as for the rest of us. In your instance you must be struggling with google.co.uk, isn't that right? Otherwise you'd be able to find all the answers to all the questions asked by all men. Here's one link for you (majority - i.e. most of it in absolute terms again - is text but I suggest you leave it overnight to load regardless)https://www.ft.com/content/92ec8204-4251-11e7-9d56...
Either that or you both suffer from incurable case of ignoramus.

Angry / condescending Stuff
So whats your solution? You seem to do an awful lot of arguing on the internet and getting yourself very angry (didnt you get a load of posts pulled last month because you went off the deep end on some forum and started ranting and the mods had to intervene?)
You're telling us it'll all end in tears, but i dont recall any "solution"?
Should poor people simply not be allowed nice things? Should we stop them to protect them all from themselves?
Should someone in their 20s be able to finance a nice car when they clearly havent set aside enough to allow them to retire 40 years from now?
Should someone only be able to prove they have two years of savings to cover ALL their outgoings?
Who should be "punished" for all this finance spending? Everyone? People who finance cars (even though they can "afford" it)? Poor people who finance cars?
What would the impact on the motor trade / economy be if we did any of that?
Genuinely curious as to what your solution is.

oh st, you're right, I remember you. You were trying to tell me that I can't charge whatever I want for the car despite me saying that even though you might be too poor to afford it someone might want to buy it at that price. So you were basically denying basic free market rights yet here you claim otherwise. Mate had I remembered I'd have never responded to your posts on here. Believe. For the record the posts got pulled because mods were offended by me quoting Juan Pablo's famous words he aimed at Kimi Raikkonen in Spa in 2002. (I replaced Raikkonen with daemon). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=stb0sqtwAZA
Now I know I was 100% right!

Funny how the mods removed ALL your ranting posts subsequently and all your swearing and paranoia at people. You just seemed to go off on one at everybody. It extended to some 3 or 4 pages from memory I've never seen the mods having to step in to "prune" a thread before (their words not mine)
And your memory seems dimmed - i've no issue paying market value for a car, i just dont see any reason to pay more than market value. You seem to conclude that made me "poor"?
Funny the irony of that - you seem happy that people on occasions pay more than market value for a car, yet are so up in arms when they do it because of finance?

But even the thickest of people wouldn't buy that used BMW at that price if a new one is cheaper. So what happens to it?
There's always someone who can't count or is not bothered by this and just takes crappy PCP deal. Recently, I heard a story about a friend of a friend who took her 3 years old BMW 3 and replaced it with 4 series. She didn't want black but ended leaving dealership in black car with white leather and debt from her previous PCP rolled up into new one and spread over 4 years. It must have been the worst deal ever but she took it and I can only guess salesman was extremely happy to get rid of the car no one wanted. PenelopaPitstop said:

This wills2 fella is a bit of a weirdo, he gets obsessed with what other men do on an internet forum and then wants to take stock of their assets. All that while being more than slightly condescending and judgemental for no reason whatsoever. All a bit sad really.

I agreed with that little aspect of what you were saying, with a view to allowing the thread to move on rather than descend further into name calling and further nonsense.I'm all for a debate but when it descends in to name calling and swearing it gets a bit tedious.
I'm happy to draw a line if you are.
