Is this the second time in the last week that Pistonheads demonstrates it's inability to spell the word 'Lightning'? smile
Oh fark, yes it is. Taken a couple of days off and forgotten how to write. Should be sorted now. Apologies!

Still enjoying mine, though I've probably chucked an easy 10k at it, wheels, KW suspension, 500HP mods, styling etc, but even then it owes me 45k and there is still no new car that offers so much performance and character for the price. The only issue I have the car randomly steers to the left when passing people on the pavement and if there is a crowd its hard work, I've got biceps the size of Arnie since owning this car to make sure it keeps going straight when passing pedestrians and crowds. biggrin

It is louder and sounds meaner than my neighbours 6.3l AMG, much to his disappointment. Great fun! biggrin
That is sensational, Gibbo205.

As for the fleet car - absolutely lovely. Fabulous in that colour, too.

Looking forward to reading the reports of this – even though I can’t see a day I’ll be able to afford one!

I love mine; mine's red, because I ordered a week after DIB disappeared and my order locked just before Lightning appeared.. but even now, I think red (Race!) was best. It's all "Look at me!" and so on.

It IS a blank piece of paper though; value be damned. There is almost too much choice for parts, styling, wheels... I've yet to start but I'm trying to leave it alone (impossible!).

Are the back seats useable? The one I saw at the FoS last year looked like nobody with legs could fit in...

I'm 6ft 7", no room at all for my 3 year old to sit behind me, even on the passenger side there's barely room for a booster seat and a small child.

The salesman fit in the one I tested quite happily behind my wife (5' 7). I'm 5' 8 so it depends on who it is. Generally speaking, the word I'd use wouldn't be "usable" but perhaps "infrequent".

That's a shame - sounds like I could probably squeeze my kids in the back now, but they are 11 & 13 and growing fast...

Dealers seem to have at least one or two - go along with the kids and try it out. Or Goodwood in July. An easy question to answer... or man-maths it, buy one and worry about it later wink

I really like these.

If they strapped a couple of turbos on I'd be tempted.
Why does it need a couple of turbo's?
435bhp and 400lb of torque is superb, especially at that price.

You could always buy the 2.3 turbo version and tune the hell out of it.

Because it's a heavy car. It's 1700kg with only 420bhp. Having owned a car at that sort of power/weight, I would find it wanting.

I suspect there's plenty of aftermarket options if you want more power.

I suspect you are right. Plus, I like the feel of Turbo'd cars compared with NA cars. Also turbo'd cars are much cheaper and easier to wind the power up compare to NA cars.

Once I can prise the keys out of Matt's hands (may require violence) I'll be going full What Car? and seeing if I can get the (Mustang mad) Trent Jr and his Recaro behind my not especially powerfully built 5' 11" frame/seating position. Don't recall it being an issue in the Ecoboost one we had in before. But, y'know, out of thoroughness I think I need to make sure that's the same for the V8. wink

Plenty of supercharger options on this car and also turbo option.

Engine is good for 650HP with no upgrades!
Upgrade the OPG/Sprocket gears (about £1000 including parts & labour) you can turn boost up and a safe reliable goal is 750-800HP level.

My mate has a close to 800HP Whipple one and the damn thing is insane, it is the quickest car I've driven and passengered in and I've driven a 670HP GTR before and Audi R8 V10, this Mustang had incredible handling and insane acceleration and still cost less with all mods than a stock GTR or R8. smile

Let's be honest, he's not likely to sit there in the back on a test drive and go "bloody hell it's small back here! I wouldn't want to be going too far in one of these.", is he? biggrin

Interiors are identical I believe as all UK cars have premier trim level interior. smile

You should maybe get one of the slightly fettled Mustangs or/and heavily fettled Mustangs from an owner to test as they are surprisingly capable cars and hugely quick, yet still function as a go to the shops or take the kids to school car with ease and comfort.

In short mine is running GT 350 engine upgrades (500HP now), KW Clubsport coilovers (rides better than stock, handles vastly better) along with some styling and other minor modifications, transforms them as you can see from the pictures of mine a few post up Dan. smile

My mates one, yellow one in background of one of my pictures is a complete overhaul, GT 350 R brakes, KW Clubsports, 800HP, PS4S tyres, that thing in the dry on the road and track handles so insanely well and the acceleration is so hard it hurts.

He'd be well up for a PH review as would I if you really want to test some American stuff where the owners have gone all out in true American fashion with some modifications. smile

Yes, yes. But I think it's important I check. Personally. To make sure and all that.

And I think we need to stay in touch and arrange a meet with PHers and their Mustangs. Sounds like in a short space of time there's an interesting amount of modding going on.

Also enjoying a thread that combines questions about ISOFIX and whether you can carry kids in the back. And supercharger conversions.

Very PH!

Well up for that buddy!
Make it so but avoid June, between this forum, M6G and social networks I reckon we can get together a minimum of 50 Mustangs to attend and even 100 would not be unrealistic.

I am sure a few owners (myself included) would throw you the keys to have a blast to compare modded to stock. smile

That is a very nicely upgraded Mustang
