We need to remember they are very capable gt cars in stock trim. I love Mac's muscle car monster and Gibbo's performance orientated gt, but if you just want something long legged that handles reasonably well, with a huge boot and space for a couple on under 10 yr olds then it's a bargain.

Surely this should be its inability not it's inability ?

What is the auto like ?

I do love a big V8 with an auto. Does that work in a Mustang ?

For anyone who thinks there aren't many options or other bits to add on, you might want to look here:

https://performanceparts.ford.com/download/catalog...

278 pages of the stuff, and that's just the official Ford parts.

Let's be honest, he's not likely to sit there in the back on a test drive and go "bloody hell it's small back here! I wouldn't want to be going too far in one of these.", is he? biggrin
No, probably not the best sales technique!

However, at the time I did remark on it and he said it was just as well it was okay as he'd been in 30+ test drives, and nearly always in the back. So, it can't be that bad! wink

The salesman sat in the back on my test drive; the trick is that it is natural for him to lean forward between the front seats to talk to you, so you cannot tell that he does not have any headroom!
Realistically I think anyone over about 5ft 3 won't fit in the back. As a previous poster said, it is easy to check for yourself, although kids could grow 2 inches while you wait for delivery!

Send the kids by bus or train and you drive the car and meet them at your destination.

is the right answer! (if you have an RX8 as per your garage, that's lots bigger in the back- I could fit in there myself)

Nah, I haven't updated that, lol. I have a FD RX-7. Even less room in the back for anything useful.

I have the auto and I quite like it. It's less lumpy than the S tronic gearboxes that were in my RS5 and RS4. It's pretty quick to downshift when you give it a bit of throttle and paired with the torquey engine (again compared to the RS4) the power delivery is rapid.

I test drove the manual and just couldn't get along with it. It didn't feel as smooth as I would have liked. I understand entirely why people buy them but for me auto was an obvious choice.

Here is a terrible photo of mine on collection day. Another Magnetic Grey GT. I really need to clean it and take it out into the New Forest on a nice day for some good photos.

That's awful- you rolled it the day you collected it? smile

I have one on hire in LA at the moment. Albeit an auto. It's fun but honestly, I think I'll be happy to get back into my M140 when I get home. It feels just as fast as the mustang and it's just a nicer place to spend time. Makes a nice noise though! It's quite a shouty noise as opposed to a burble noise.

I guess it comes down to, once the omg wow mustang wears off... No thanks.

Upgrading can be good fun, but I would really want to start from the 350R which is much much closer to where I would want to end up. Will that ever come to Europe?

I assume you mean you're running same peak power as GT350 now, rather than you've done an engine swap for the exotic flat plane crank engine in the GT350?

Vid please PH! It would be nice to get a driveby with a good quality microphone that can capture the bass - let's hear the V8 roar!
