Volvos with flaking badges.

Put Volvo has both a flaking Volvo badge and a flaking RDesign badge. Seen it on loads of others, too.

We also have three "ransit" vans at work.

SAAB's with washed out/de-coloured badges, just ends up silver, seen a few of these.

A lot of early 2000s Alfas have their logo badges faded - both front and back!

I had this issue, bought a new genuine Volvo badge on ebay for about £5 but I'm told dealers replace them for free?

Had an issue with the R Design badge, that was expensive for a new badge, i'll get a gel overlay next time

In 2016, Volvo UK acknowledged this problem and instructed dealerships to replace them as part of a service. You couldn’t just turn up.

I only know that because I bought a Selekt used Volvo (their approved used car scheme) in September 2016 and was told this by the dealer.

Have we had Transit Custom door seal next to fuel cap yet?

Going for a good thread bump here. Anybody else noticed loads of the most recent Mazda 3s with badly faded rear numberplates? Not seen this on any other car but most Mazda 3s I see have this issue. Saw an 18 plate one the other day where the rear plate had faded to white. I don't know it might be a local problem (dodgy numbeplates at dealer?) but I don't see it on other Mazdas, so not sure.
Noticed this on a few different types of cars recently, maybe it is just me...

It'll be getting some eBay badges when I get the chance. Car is 9 years old so it won't be going to Volvo for much.

As an aside, I had to replace the badges on my Saab for the same thing.

Parts trainee at the local Mazda dealer forgetting to remove film before printing plates??

I drove a 13 plate Insignia yesterday and despite having done 90,000 miles, having a drivers seat that was ruined and suspension that did nothing of the sort it still had the front badge.

I did think it was something to do with the local dealer, but don't see it on other models. I wondered if it was due to the placement of the plates they become more vulnerable to sun.

Also, sort of off topic. I saw a red 52 plate Corsa today, that wasn't even slightly pink, in fact the red looked perfect.

A lot of fords from the era that the badge on the front grille was the bonnet latch, always seem to have the badge missing or upside down because they have forgotten that they do that. Also, Volvos and their unlatching fuel filler doors, our old one did it and amusingly many others from that era of Volvo still do it, most noticeable when they come to a sharp stop whilst turning.

A lot of the fading of red cars is due to UV absorption damage so maybe the car has been garaged?

Someone at work who had one until recently swore by polishing it with WD40 to get the red back.

Other frequent issues are Peugeot 206s with the brake lights jammed on.

Alternately flashing indicator and tail lights on older Renault Meganes.

Audi A3s with the rear wiper stuck halfway up the rear window.

Mk5 Vauxhall Astras with the front wipers halfway up the windscreen.

Vauxhall Zafiras always seem to pump out smoke from burning oil, probably because the type of people who run them hammer them and never have any maintenance done.

Maybe, but can't remember the last time I saw a red vauxhall of that vintage that was still red, in fact I think they became pink very quickly from memory.

To return to relevance, the revealed Opel logo on Insignia is more prestigious than the original, so should be cherished and “buffed up”.

Is it?

Opel's image is equal to Vauxhall's image in its markets

I know Transits are renowned for rusting, but I've seen far many Sprinters rusted a lot worse.
