Rusty Sprinter anyone?
I know Transits are renowned for rusting, but I've seen far many Sprinters rusted a lot worse.
I have had to look at lots of vans for a family member. Sprinters are even worse than Transits (and we are not talking old stuff ). Both are dreadful but Sprinter worse.

I'm bumping this with a recent observation. The Mercedes CLC(picture below if you don't know them), I have never seen one with all the LEDs in the high level brake light working, even when they were new they never seemed to all work.

I’ve been thinking about these too

Mk6 fiestas always missing the trim on the windows
Mk3 focus always having a bit of rubber hanging off the bottom of the rear door
Mk7.5 fiestas ALWAYS having at least one brake light out
Mk3 mondoes always having half of the rear lights out, they have 2 bulbs making up a ring but one is always broken

I’ve noticed they are all fords ive mentioned above!

Early Nissan Kumquat, always has the black plastic boot handle/trim, held on with tape, I guess over the years the plastic goes brittle and breaks.

Bugger, you've beaten me to it. Always think of this thread when I see one of these with a taped on boot handle or ultimately no handle and loads of duct tape glue.

Both of you four years too late:

Seen a few Qashqais looking like this lately, which reminded me of this thread!
That but of trim seems prone to falling off.

On the Insignia topic, why not just paint the Opel logo with left over silver spray can or even the old bikers’ friend, chrome sellotape. Opel name will add £100 to the value of the (underrated) insignia.

A lot of the fading of red cars is due to UV absorption damage so maybe the car has been garaged?
Maybe, but can't remember the last time I saw a red vauxhall of that vintage that was still red, in fact I think they became pink very quickly from memory.
Merc 190 used to be the King of Pink.
Off topic, but why on earth is red the only colour that the 'pale' variant has a completely different name?

Off to the lounge to make a thread...

I got some advice on here and another "browner" forum when looking for an insignia for the niece

I was asked if it (a potential candidate) still had it's front badge and I said yes

Reply was "clearly had front end accident damage"

I'd never heard of that term before but guessed right away what it meant and appreciated it's appropriateness
