RE: McLaren 570GT: PH Fleet
Discussion
Must be just me, but I'm not a fan of the looks. I find it to be a little too busy from most angles.
That being said, I'm more interested in the performance metric side of things. Not really much to go on in the review; I wonder if its being driven with kid gloves due to newness, or if Dan's driving it like he stole it?
The braking and handling sounds about right for where the car is in the range. Its not an out and out race car, so there's no "need" for ceramic brakes. Pub talk aside, I think its fine.
I'm keen to hear how this compares with the Litchfield LM20.

Interesting colour. One I imagine really needs to be seen in the 'flesh', as it looked blue to me in some. Supercars don't all need to be fluorescent orange. Maybe just the interior though.
Nice to read about the steering and hear it's better than those other cars. It can make or break a car more than anything else I think.

I am a big fan of Maclaren and I think it's a Lovely car, I like the spec. but charging customers extra for a first aid kit and triangle???
That was one of the first things that struck me too when reading the spec list, and a not inconsiderable sum (£60) for a plastic triangle and some plasters, poor form really. Nice car though all the same.Edited by Mr-B on Tuesday 11th April 22:37

Or is that not the done thing?
Paying £3500 for a shade of silver paint does seem poor value in these days of there being an infinite choice of vinyl wraps available, so you could spec the car with a plain, but free, coat of paint and then spend similar money getting a lurid temporary colour which can be removed at sale time.
(I assume in reality the Macca PR dept have insisted on a conservative spec to aid resale after the 6-month test period is up).

The cost of floor mats is hideous as well tbh and somewhat interestingly doesn't seemed to have been specced on the car either.Edited by Mr-B on Tuesday 11th April 22:37
Looks great, silver can look a little apologetic (just taken delivery of an Msport Beemer in silver after having an Estoril Blue one) but also looks like there's an actual grown up driving...and with LED's lit can still have an air of sinister about it...
