I have since owned and sold a supercharged E55. Immense amount of power and a cranking engine, but the car itself was a one trick pony. The E60 that replaced it has a glorious sounding engine, but thanks to the wrong choice of garage, is an engine that is now being rebuilt. New readers rides thread coming in April when I get it back, after £11k being spent on it.
Just to check... are you talking about the Brabus E60 or a BMW 5-series? I realise the latter is more likely but as you mentioned it replaced an E55 my heart hopes for the former.

But if you supercharged your K20A with the correct supercharger, you would have all the positives of a low boost setup with none of the negatives. That is, a forced induction engine that behaves like the N/A does.
Going back a bit to this post, but this is what I did. Took a K20 and added a Rotrex supercharger, still drives like a NA car (there’s not a big ‘kick’ of boost like a turbo) as the boost ramps up through the rev range. When I first got the car it ran 204.9bhp @ 8129rpm with 142ft/lb torque.
On the same rollers it now runs 357.6@ 7880 with 238.4 ft/lb torque. It feels superb but still has the ability to rev and drive like an NA car.
