........if I had the spare money I would love to see what chipping it would do........
My mates remapped S60 D5 would quite happily worry T5's.........although it did like blowing off boost hoses for fun! And putting holes in intercoolers.

1999 2.4 petrol 140bhp here, cloth seats and manual. Had it for years as a spare car and love it.
Balloon tyres and whispering engine make it quieter and more refined than most new stuff, sure it's slow and gutless but with a massive boot and at £700 on 68k with a full Volvo history, it's charmed me.
Can jump in it and do a 200 mile trip up the motorway at 40ish mpg - no worries except trying to stay awake as it's so comfy!

My current volvo bangers are, s60 2.0t, s60 d5 2004 (worst of the lot) and a 2001 s80 t6
I'd like a T6, but have heard the gearbox is awful and only a 4 speed? MadmanO/T People said:

I'd like a T6, but have heard the gearbox is awful and only a 4 speed? The T6 XC60 had the same stty 4 speed GM box, and it was even more troublesome in that. It's a great shame that the 6 cylinder twin turbo engine was never available with a decent transmission.

Can you imagine how depressing it must be to be reading PH from another country where this cornucopia of shedness is three or four times the cost to buy/run?
It absolutely is depressing looking on here in Spain. No amount of sunshine and cheap booze can compensate for the shocking second hand car prices we have here. I shedder to think how much such a shed would be here - in addition to the high price, it would be bashed and scraped to bits and have no form of service history whatsoever. Can you imagine how depressing it must be to be reading PH from another country where this cornucopia of shedness is three or four times the cost to buy/run?
I thought it was one of the best sheds in a long time. Equally impressed with the Mrs Shed references this week, "had five big blokes in there no problem" pmsl
I picked up one of these while my M5 was off the road for some engine work (it's still off the road, but that's a tale of woe I won't recount here). 120k miles, 2001 car for a grand total of £450. One owner too, and a personalised plate. I didn't even negotiate with the older gent who sold it to me. It came with a roof rack (plus bike rack) and a picnic blanket in the boot too.
I assumed it was the 140HP version of the 2.4 NA motor - imagine my surprise when a cursory run through the PH classifieds revealed it was actually the full blown 170. Bit odd to have such a peaky motor in this type of car, but as others have said - setting lap times isn't the strong point.
It's been an amazing car, the only thing I've done to it is change the oil. The leather is still good, aircon works, heated seats work. Stereo is better than the M-Audio system in the car it's standing in for. Fits a ton of stuff in the boot if you fold the seats down and everyone who rides as a passenger comments on how quiet, comfortable and spacious it is!
