No it's not, it's a bit st. Sorry, but a Focus ST is hardly going to be a rival. At least talk about the RS.
How grateful pistonhead members, Toyo, Mountune and Ford are for your knowledgeable insight on human waste.SidewaysSi said:
No problem, any time. Not sure what a few brands means if they deliver a sub par product.
Extraordinary comments from someone with such an interesting past and current garage. Hope to meet you and then you can drive mine and whether the drive changes your mind or not at least you'll be able to speak from a position of strength rather than weakness.driftingphil said:

Really?? come on there's barely a handful of cars out there that can trounce a Porsche Turbo.
It will give give a run for it's money but overall the 911 would eat it alive...
My comment was in reference to the current 991 turbo thread where a poster was suggesting a chipped Golf R could compete with said Porsche. The laughing emoji I hoped showed I wasn't being serious! It will give give a run for it's money but overall the 911 would eat it alive...

I might add that i am running billies, eibachs, 19s (Hirsch so light) and am extensively poly-bushed. I do have to sacrifice a little NVH there..................
As a FK2 owner born in the middle of the 20th century I have absolutely no idea what you are talking about!!Is it cockney rhyming slang? Harry and billies...............bushed and tuckered............i think i can remember being 19.
Anyway to get back to the topic of the Type R pricing. Is it good value? I suppose so considering the performance per pound off the showroom floor.
Would I pay £33K for this car? No, i would get one with 5000 miles and save £8K.
Do I like the styling of this car, the FK8? In all honesty, I don't think that I do.
But I think that Honda missed a trick by not bringing the Coupe version for Europe. Maybe in the future...............
However we are now in the 21st Century and the Civic, Insignia and Impreza seem to be shaping up as the new jellymould. I suppose the design will grow on us eventually. I may be brown bread by then!

Bilstein dampers
Eibach springs
Hirsch 19 inch lightweight rims
Lots of bushes replaced with poly ones
Resulting in a tight handling car but harsher ride than standard with a little more vibration.

Thanks for that explanation, I need to get a 21st century dictionary!Bilstein dampers

I had a nice 70 mile drive up from the South coast in the FK2 this evening, I would not want to do anything to the car to improve it.
I used a mixture of B roads, A roads and a bit of motorway, I was more than happy with the handling and performance. The +R button will firm up the suspension, steering and throttle response and is obviously best suited to a track day but I would not want to put up with the harsher ride on the road in normal driving.
The new FK8 has 3 driving modes, I would like to experience the different modes in the car to see if there is a real world improvement over the FK2. But I won't be spending any money on new billies!

I'm sure there must be cheaper ways of looking like a bruv than blowing £31-33k on this 'look at me' design.
Like what exactly? I just don't see the problem. It'll be a great drive and a lot of fun, but I guess we all have cars way, way more capable/worthy/expensive.
It's Pistonheads after all.

I love these alternative reality games, but I'm never any good at them. Anyone got any pointers on cracking this cipher? I've got nothing.Gassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
