Okay, I don't have a car as slow as a Griff to compare with, but the Cerb is insured for just over £200. Obviously the insurance company thinks I'm a better risk. Do you think they may have read this thread?

How's that for hostile . BTW I had to struggle with this post. Its difficult to be argumentative with someone who owns a Griff. When I see that car in your history I can't actually bring myself to post anything argumentative anymore. Griffs really are gorgeous.

This. There's the law and there's militant male cyclists who are never wrong. Morally they could help other motorists but they won't. Because they are cyclists.
The first ignorant generalisation of the thread. Well donevenquessa said:
My point was, why is the lycra trend increasing so much this last decade or so? Seems like it's become a fashion thing or a trend. Or maybe it's the sudden up take in cycling and middle class people (myself included) do like to throw money at their hobbies.
Because its far cheaper and more available now than it used to be. Back in the early 1990s I went to buy some cycling shorts and they cost me £20 – when my weekly rent was £25. Now nearly 30 years later I can get a pair from Wiggle/PlanetX/Wherever for under £15.
I do fail to see why its an issue though. I wear running shorts, running shoes and running tops when I go running, I wear swimming trunks when I go swimming, I wear football shorts and boots for football...

BTW is Winston Wolf a moderator?
Howcome in every one of these threads, he just insults different people, with personal insults, and doesn't get banned?
Nope, I only disagree with people who don't seem to be able to drive very well and spout rubbish, a bit like yourself...Howcome in every one of these threads, he just insults different people, with personal insults, and doesn't get banned?
Cyclists are xxx. That's worthy of picking up on.

The cyclists are typical lycra warriors.
Weren't you the guy who got caught behind a cyclist for 50 minutes (allegedly) ? That was a classic thread. You didn't help the anti-cycling movement much...The reality is that the proportion of inconsiderate cyclists is as small as the proportion of angry/grumpy anti-cyclist posters on PH, but both groups are quite noisy.
Can't we just say the world is full of pricks and some of them dress in lycra and ride a bicycle, some of them are in cars (Possibly wearing the full racing driver outfit) and some are in leathers on motorbikes.
Get a lot of cyclists round our way (imagine really narrow roads with lots of big hedges and blind corners). The village is really anti cycling at the moment due to inconsiderate littering, inconsiderate riding and even stopping to piss on the village green and they never seem to have a happy looking faces. Thought you did this for enjoyment?

None of them will be happy because they are chasing an impossible dream.... hence why the pretend to be in the Sky race team most of the time. If a full race suit is the best clothing for the job, then why wouldn't you wear it?
Because it isn't unless you are racing proper and dressing up like a complete tt to drive or ride on the road is childish and stupid! A full on racing overall is not the best clothing for driving a car on the road whereas, by comparison, Lycra does make pretty good road cycling clothing.
The only one childish and stupid is the one who decides if someone is a tt based on what clothes they are wearing.
