I might not be able to outright prove it but I have fairly compelling evidence in the form of this extensive EC-funded feasibility study done in 2003 which I believe was used in part to bring about certain regulation regarding car design(as referenced here:- https://ec.europa.eu/transport/road_safety/special...

No, it's way more than 'a few pennies'. If you had to travel into London 5 days a week over a year you'd be spending around £2,500.In addition, BIK for an i8 is significantly better than say, an SL500, 911, F-type, or any other equivalent car at this price point. And, as someone else stated, just because someone can afford a £100k car, why would they automatically not care about throwing money to the government in congestion charges and, if bought secondhand, road tax exemption?
I know that I although my current 6 is pretty cheap to run, had I the option to purchase an i8 at the time I would have done so knowing I'd sidestep the congestion charge as well as road fund licence, no question about it - it's not just about money, it's about convenience; I can drive my car in and out of the zone without a care as well as save money. I'm sure many others feel the same and I suspect it's also a pretty big motivational reason that Teslas are so common within London...
Looks like an ugly Honda Accord coupe:
It's a sign of just how bad things are in the BMW styling department that they release this thing. Compare to an S class coupe (or whatever it's called now) it looks clumsy and over-styled, compared to a DB11 it looks old fashioned, festooned with ugly features. And the interior looks cheap.
I always thought BMW used to have the best interiors in the business, the e30 for example was way ahead of its competitors. Now the latest 3 / 4 interiors look cheap, with leather that doesn't even look or feel like it.
Come on BMW, if this is what your team of stylists can come up with, sack them all.

Love it. Love the old one.
There's never been an ugly BMW, don't care what any of you think.
There have been some bland BMW's but not ugly.
Apart from the i3. That's just unforivable.
And the 2 series GT thing. Just buy a Focus FFS.

Hmmmm... A Honda Accord coupe. An A5... Never fails to amaze me people say X looks like or a poor version of Y when in this case the have nothing in common but the essentials. 2 doors, 4 wheels, glass to see out of, lights to see and be seen, a bonnet and a boot. couldn't have put it better...They're not even close... At times like this I sometimes wish I could see the through other peoples eyes.... actually no
There are design trends and market sectors, but other than some thinly veiled facsimiles from China...no real 2 cars that look anything close to another marque.
Taking a photo of two cars in the same colour from the same angle proves nowt.

Well done BMW, that's one gorgeous looking car.
Apart from the front, which is truly gopping. And the side view, which looks like an Aston, and the rear 3/4 view, which looks like an A5 ....
And this will come out with a 3 liter diesel. The market practically demands it.

Yup, front is a bit OTT (the Americans should love it) but the rest looks great.
Is there going to be another 6 series or not? It seems that there will be a huge gap in the range between 4 and 8. Maybe the 6 could get sportier and more like the E24...
I think it looks great and I like the front. Disclaimer: American. Is there going to be another 6 series or not? It seems that there will be a huge gap in the range between 4 and 8. Maybe the 6 could get sportier and more like the E24...
While it is apparently an 8 series, I see nothing about it that is reminiscent of the 90's 8 series.
Its natural competitor, by looks, is the 2 door Maserati and maybe the Mercedes SL, not the stuff listed.
