Some of the comments in this thread are madness.

If people are true car fans you have to admire this car, even if you don't find it aesthetically to your tastes. But just the sheer uniqueness and extravagance of it is awesome.
Yup, you've proved your assertion right there.

I don't know why people have this idea that Rolls Royces have to be tasteful things of beauty. They have nearly always been both that and outrageously over the top tacky chromefests - even in the twenties people were marrying them with crazy amounts of chrome grille and in-your-face oppulence:

I think there's plenty of room for both. (I do think the latest Black Series Wraiths are of very questionable taste, mind you - this makes those look like chavved-up Novas in comparison.)

Indeed, just google image search "maharajah Rolls Royces" and feast your eyes on the tasteless glitter-rolled turdfest that was RR bespoke from the 20s to the 40s.

The profile image is stunning. Front just doesn't work, and the rear to me is more for safety than beauty. Alas modern car design rules make bespoke cars nearly impossible to look 'stunning'. Blame the EU.

Does anyone actually know if the body mods/coachwork was carried out by Rolls Royce at Goodwood? That's an awful lot of specialised conversion going on and IMO I didn't think they had facilities to do that level of body in white redevelopment?

There must have been some old Maybach parts available for the back-end that they could pimp with more chrome for this one-off... horrid

Isn't 8 a lucky number in China?
Me too.

Olympic games in China started on August 8, 2008 (or 08/08/08).
In China, you have to pay extra to have the number 8 in your phone number or license plate.

I'd say you're already pretty lucky to be born to a family that owns half of London and HK haha. This planet is absurd.

I'd get them to make me this. With a V16 engine as well, sure they must have one gathering dust somewhere:-

This tweak alone would have (quite cheaply) helped things out a fair bit, and made it more pleasant inside.

EDIT:

It's odd really as they appear to have already drawn the design intention on to the side, then just got bored half way through and didn't bother making the window fit.

Mind you, it's hardly new creating coachbuilt bodies on Rolls Royce (and similar) cars. They've even nicked some of the design cues from this James Young bodied Phantom V:

No seats in the back - why bother?

Makes the C pillar look less clumsy, better visibility (not that I imagine that's a big concern) and even more airy cabin?

Just think it looks nicer than the huge C pillar with tiny window in, clearly the buyer didn't though and he's got the money to back up the paint skills!

I don't completely dislike it. I like the bullet tail and the glass roof. The front is vile and gaudy though and since someone pointed it out earlier on this thread, it's been hard to ignore that rear overhang.

This is what happens when money outruns taste. Just awful, even uglier than a standard one.

Sorry but Rolls Royce have just completely lost their way. Bentley every time for me.
That is one ugly, pointless motor.
