Dreadful order of priorities...presumably production of newer vehicles which use this part (if they do) has not been halted for 4 weeks. a simple divert of 1 item of stock should surely be possible.
Back in the day of wearhouses full of stock maybe but not in the modern world of lean just in time production. You can't just take a component from the line.
Having worked on the XE line, JIT often doesn't work. The line stops regularly for lack of parts. Keeping an existing customer waiting 4 weeks for a part is disgusting behaviour.
I never said it worked hehe

The FIL's RRS was up on blocks as the oil cooler had failed, he kicked off with LR as they said it was a six week wait, they got one the next day from the factory. They can when they want to, his car wasn't drivable, the wife's is, just no radio. It's inconvenient!

line stoppages aren't a big issue so long as they're hitting build targets for the week, which they do regular as cars just go straight off the track into WIP (work in progress cars) so as not to stop Production. I suppose its the trade off between using vast amounts of space on site for warehousing or risking the line stoppages due to shortages.

That story of waiting 4 weeks for parts is a disgrace...

If you are not getting anywhere with your dealer then a swift email to jagcrc@jaguarlandrover.com and copying in ralf.speth@jaguarlandrover.com should start the wheels turning.

The wheels are fine on his wife's car, it's the radio that's problematic.

Agreed, I actually quite like the car, just pissed off with the don't give a st attitude of LR. I won't be spending any more money on a Jaguar/Land Rover vehicle, much as I'd like to.

Not read the rest of the thread, but my initial thought from your original post......

II appreciate that SUV's are the in thing....
....is, I'm not sure you really do.

The fact is, as more people try SUVs they stick with them.

Also, an F-Pace can retain around 65% of its initial value, where as a XF estate is around 45%, it starts to look pricy in comparison.
