iPod connection sound issue

Hi,

I have just purchased an Aston Martin V8 Vantage 4.7L 2014 plate. The car itself is amazing!! However I seem to be having an issue with my iPod connection sound and was wondering if anyone else has the same issue or if its just me doing something wrong? When I play the radio or my CD's, the sound is fantastic, but when I switch to the iPod and play music through my iPod connected to the built-in iPod connector port in the car, the sound is all tinny and poor. Does anyone know why the sound would be different through the iPod connector? I'm using an old iPhone 3 that we use for playing music at home.

have you tried a different device?

What are the equaliser settings on the device? Might be optimised for crappy headphones?
