What 20 year old car would you choose as your daily drive?
Discussion
This one or that one for my daily duties.
One of them makes me want to drive as fast as safely possible, the other I'm happy cruising around under the speed limit. Both are massive feel good cars so I don't want to change them for anything.
Although I'm thinking about adding E39 530i Manual or RS Clio to keep the miles off the other two.
By coincidence to this thread, my VR4 rolled off the production line 20 years ago yesterday.
I purchased this 1997 Subaru Forester S/tb for less than a grand a year ago as a two week hack whilst my company car was in the garage having a new turbo fitted.
Its bulletproof, FAST (250bhp factory), discrete and fits in as well on the school run as it does on the tip run.
I've only just stopped using it as my daily mile muncher after 18 months and nearly 20k miles.

Actually, that look like a really good looking hack for shed moneyIts bulletproof, FAST (250bhp factory), discrete and fits in as well on the school run as it does on the tip run.

I would love to get my hands back on the VW Corrado VR6 I had as a company motor in 1992-93 which replaced a 328i. One of the early 2.9s in black, so no leather option but I specced it with a dealer-fit aircon and CD player. Such a brilliant all-rounder with enough room, great handling and performance and a wonderful howl. I've owned or used over 60 cars so far in my driving career including 5 BMWs, 2 Audis, 3 Jags and 6 Porsches, but that black Corrado still stands out. Maybe having to give it back prematurely when I was made redundant had something to do with it... K408RBY where are you now?!
I've fallen in love with this car!

1998 Dodge Durango - 5.2 V8: Perhaps not the most stunning car, but after moving to the States we brought this o'l girl (nik-named Donkey cause she does all the hard work) - 20 years next year. Near 200,000 miles, drives like a bus, drinks gas like there's no tomorrow - but she gets the job done! Towed large trailers all over the country, used daily for near 20 years - now my lads use it/her to get to school and back - keeps on keeping on. I'll stick with the Aston but the boys absolutely love her

I have just sold my BMW E36 2.5 litre In line 6. It was starting to need a lot of work. I bought a new BMW 335d Xdrive, and love it. BUT, if my E36 was still around in the original design, but brand new, I would buy it again. I am getting acquainted with my 335d, but I just loved my E36, I owned it from new for 19 years, I believe that car to be the best I have owned.
