What a load of ste. It's worth less than £500 to boot.

Shed journalists are back on form. Get another job you have no idea what you're doing and should be ashamed of yourselves.

I had a 1999 9-3 convertible turbo manual, but have driven a mixture of autos and NG900s. 9-3 refined the recipe significantly. Good quality cars, particularly inside.

If I recall, Mr. Clarkson preferred the V6 over the turbo. The automatic isn't great but isn't terrible either - always liked the S button on the top.

Good shed I reckon

Because Saab never, ever did that before GM, did they?

Saab never once designed an engine from a clean sheet of paper.

The two-smoke was based on a DKW design. The V4 was a buy-in. The slant-four started as a buy-in and got developed. The v6 was a buy-in. The later fours were a buy-in. All three diesels were buy-ins.

Agh, damnit, I'd just about forgotten how much I missed my Silver GM NG 900 2.0T, then this pops up.

I've always tried to find a reason (and money) to buy another but it never happens at the same time. I just wish they weren't all being scrapped, I'd love another.

V6 engine was far too noisy in the NG900 for a supposed luxury car.

Horrid.

Love the 'handles like a ferry' comment. I had a convertible (2.0i manual) about 20 years ago and it 'handled like a ferry' with awful scuttle shake thrown in which made it handle more like a ferry running aground. The manual gearbox was pretty awful too. And yet it really was a lovely car and I regretted selling it after having it for about 4 years and never having a problem with it. Bizarrely I would have another one.
