Yes I guess if you compare to 6 cylinder 190s and the like. It seems not so long ago that these would have been half the price though!
A quick google suggests the engine in question is pretty poor though - both slow and thirsty.
I seem to remember a huge job to change the cambelt on the V6

One of the first Mondeos. It looks to be in pretty good condition: https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201...

What’s with the front bumper? Spoils it for me as it’s not original fitment.

We used to have an early A4 with the 2.6 V6. Incredibly smooth, quiet engine. Fuel consumption utterly appalling. 30mpg at 60mph. Driven normally it’d scrape mid 20’s mpg.

Notorious for oil leaks but ours was fine. Timing belt was 4hrs labour at the local specialist.

I'd love to take that and get all the oily and underneath bits 100% but keep it looking broadly like that

Blimey, that picture takes me back. My first car was a 1974 R5 TL, bought from a family friend in 1982 I think. I loved it, especially with the quirky dash-mounted gear-change.

The barn-find Gordini is pretty cool-looking, but deep pockets needed I suspect.

Doesn't match the rest of the car as the rest is original GLX spec.

Probably too expensive. I like it though: https://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C1128602

I like that quite a lot.

Doesn't seem particularly steep price wise if it is as mint as he makes out?
CAR Magazine slated the 80 V6 due to the outdated chassis. I suppose putting the V6 in the 80 chassis allowed them to compete with other marques, prove the V6 engine in the field and prepare the way for the A4?

Same vendor is selling that red one. Perhaps the vendor thinks 'Status' means marital status, or they've stated 'Private' as they think it's none of our business?

And this one as well... he could just be a real Audi 80 enthusiast. I was dropped off at school in a red 1.8. Happy memories of the door clunk.

It's the "Modern Classic Car Co." probably being too cheap to pay for ads or just trying to avoid people googling them. I'd avoid them.

Rover 111 GSi

1995 Rover GSi, 12 months MOT, 45k and looks tidy. Only about 20 left on the road apparently.

I've a friend who had an unhappy experience viewing a car there.

His interpretation of some of the (many) superlatives in the advert being somewhat different to that of the vendor.

No mention of the fact it failed two MOTs this year included for 'excessive' floor pan rust and so was clearly welded.

A mate had one of those in the mid-90s and it was basically Swiss cheese by then, despite looking great from outside and being ostensibly well looked-after all its life.

The background to the photos is a giveaway and the text follows the same format. Perhaps they're an enthusiast who happens to be a trader? They could just state on the advert that they're trade if they're not an individual.

The right of passage at the time was Nova to Saxo to Impreza then if you still had your licence you got a Passat because you'd got Britney up the duff. You now see the kid (who's indifferent about you) every other weekend and still pine after another Scooby as 'that bh' made you sell yours because of the kid (who you're indifferent about).

I remember sitting at the side of the road after an engine compartment fire in a 1980 R5 in '89. It had cost my mate £50, which is probably as much as that Gordini is actually worth, even though those wheels just look fantastic.

Slightly over budget, and pointless in the middle of summer. But I like it. I would pretend to be in The Shining. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Activ-Fischer-Snowtrac-...tongue out-MAAOSw3jFdPwBO

This is my favourite thread.

How about a 1999 Chevrolet Camaro 3.8L V6 Auto T Top Targa for £4250. If only it were a manual V8.
