That's astonishing. The true value must be closer to around £6.99 based on the typical mark up from that seller.
Seems reasonable price given excellent condition
Not really
Having had one on extended loan from a "friend", I'd agree. Asking £6.99 even brand new is a stretch.

Except that it effectively "white goods"

Why would anyone want it ?
  • Because it's a very low mileage car in excellent condition.
  • Because they're a Citroen enthusiast and want something more modern to go alongside the BX and 2CV already in the garage.
  • Because they have particularly fond memories of the Xantia they had as a company car in the 1990s.
  • Because they want something to bring along to the Festival Of The Unexceptional.
  • Because they think the 1990s was the "best" era of family cars, before everything became too bloated and complex.
KGF charge some punchy prices, but they're interesting to follow on Instagram. They often share handover photos, and the people who buy the immaculate 1990s "white goods" cars are usually late middle aged men.

I'm in an Italian and LHD phase at the moment and would like any (or all) of these, all hovering in or just over budget.

Love this car ,partly because it's the car that my Barchetta loosely is styled on.

But....

Paint is horrible colour, not sure it is even painted ,looks like primer described as silver.

Why would the UK seller say it comes with US plate"69 SPDR" plate that will have to go to register it here ?

Apart from it would make a good souvenir for the garage wall....coolconfused

Three great cars CdeG! I had a Lancia Beta HPE in a fabulous metallic blue back in the late eighties (T-boned at a junction by an old dear unfortunately) and it's still the car I miss the most from all the motors I've had.

Love the interior of the Fiat 130, and the exterior for that matter. Not so sure about the red air filter housing in the engine bay though. hurl

2001 Pug 306 Meridian 2L diesel estate, 35k miles. Some paint peeling on plastic parts and seat a bit tatty, £2850 asking price sounds optimistic...

That seat looks like it's done 235k miles, let alone 35k miles.

Yeah, I'm thinking £285.00 would be more like it

I drove that car a few weeks ago. It went on to sell at auction for £900 if I recall correctly. Probably nearer a grand after fees. It drove exceptionally well, but I'm shocked to see that it's now up for nearly three grand! I could sort of understand if the seller had spent a bit of time and effort getting it into mint condition, but it looks no different!

Exactly, there is no way that seat has done 35k

I've had cars that have had disabled owners (they put a lot of strain on the seats getting in and out) with 100k that have less wear.

Disagree, "back in the day" I had one for a few years, franticly reliable and way more comfortable than my present car.

Each to their own. I hated its wooliness and imprecision, having expected to be OK with it, as I had had a pleasant experience with a BX for a short while.

for the fiat 130 i would not be so optmistic...have you seen the different shades of the painit comapring front right side wing with the rest.....watch also the frnt pick: the gap from bumper to front-pane shows a irregular gap...this car had an accident repair

inner wing looks fine, just a "fender bender" by the look of it.

That Fiat is nearly 50 years old. I'd be more concerned if it was immaculate.

Purely for the rarity (following on from the inspiration of the Citroen ZX talk in the VTS thread/article), I was sorely tempted to bid on this ZX Volcane.

Shed money for a solid and now rare car:
www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1994-Citroen-ZX-Volcane-TD/2543...

If it was black/white/3dr I probably would have bid. Popping it here in case it's on the radar of any others who love a bit of XUD9TE with the 90's Citroen styling.
