I know these have a niche appeal and this seems reasonably priced.

When was the last time you saw one of these? For £600, I really want it:

I really like that, mind you I had a 6000 mile 924 as a garage ornament for a while

"Part exchange to clear, no warranty implied or given"

Then send the bloody thing to auction.

But this is a 924S - should be a whole lot better than a straight 924. Though it will still have dodgy electrics.

Nah, it'll be fine. Buy it.

Mine was the N/A, gutless but such a sweet handling thing. One of the few cars you can drive flat out down a country lane and not be too worried about your licence laugh

That Fiat is nearly 50 years old. I'd be more concerned if it was immaculate.
Interesting long term ownership write-up in C&SC:

Nice Seicento.

Still a lot of these in daily use in Italy but the Cinquecento is a much rarer spot.

Rover 416GTi from 1991. £2795. Presumably as the ad dates from May, "good luck with that" price is appropriate.

Somehow, my Dad sneaked me onto a Rover car demo trackday not very long after I'd passed my test. After driving all sorts around the track, I felt that the 216/416 GTi was the real sweet spot in the range, with enough power, but not too much for the chassis. Mind you, my Dad ended up with a 420 GSi Sport Turbo (K420 NOW, where are you? (Long dead, I guess, as no MOT history shown frown )) which was a whole different kettle of fish.
And if I was buying, that one looks like a properly looked after car, with all the odds'n'sods picked up along the way "just in case", and looks like lots of OE bits kept after changing, too... exactly the way I run cars and would want to keep up.

Shame it's been wrecked from new with a slushbox, then!

I know nothing about these, but appreciate the retro boxiness. https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201...

The terrible plates would have to go, and it's not a good time of year. But still... https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201...
