How about a Subaru SVX?
I'm really drawn to one...

I like the theory but my Dad had a really tatty one in PX a few years ago which put me off them

Plus IIRC they are quite heavy / slow (compared to what I expected from the looks / spec)
I think they'd be a great candidate for an electric conversion - it already looks space-age, imagine transplanting a Tesla drivetrain into it!

Years ago I saw a H6 swapped P1 up for sale on Autotrader for around £13k, bet that would've been interesting

Could've been this one, don't remember it being that cheap though

Oh I'm tempted, much prefer thrashing a slower car these days, not too far either.

Go get it! Before it’s up in a white background at £5995.

I wasn't expecting to see 1495 before I clicked on the link.

Got to be a bargain.

Have to agree, if kept well ,value will be double in no time.

Love that 318ti.

Have some retro-boxiness: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1985-VOLVO-760-GLE-AUTO...

I know people who would pay more than that for a similar age Z3 with the same engine.

I know which I would buy.

I was expecting the first number to be a 2. Very surprised at the price.

I think that it will appreciate. E36s that aren't Z3s are getting rare.

I have a strange attraction to this (but probably not at this price): https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/rover-220-GTI-3-door-lo...

Interesting... mine looks considerably worse than that, but no advisories for rust!

To off-set the spaffing, that's an awful advert ('values will soar to 3500'. Right-o.) for a rather uninteresting car. Unloved when new, ever less loved now.

No thanks, my money will stay in my pocket.

This looks totally charming, and is under £2k. https://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C1186951

Appealing. The R5 always looked better as a 2 door, but they were charming cars.
I'm biased though, as a 1974 5 TL was my first car.

It's in North Wales. Just as well Hub Nut is in NZ or he may've been tempted. Shame about knock by the NS headlamp.
Avoid unless you have a pet welder - MOT history makes for horrifying reading
