That CX is all the more lovely for being shabby chic. I'm not sure about the pretend French plates, or the fact that he's a boy car, from the description...

That has huge appeal. Yet I can't for the life of me work out why.
100% agree, I love it!

I saw a rather lovely one of these the other day. Hope the owner doesn't mind me posting it but it was immaculate.

Not been used since 2006 yet somehow they'll be able to MOT it no problem, I'm sure that MOT will be sparkly clean
If it's anything like the one my old man had, the front footwell floors will be more holes than metal. I had some fun times in it, though.

When I was shopping for my camper base, I was offered one a little older for £1500. Turned it down because I saw the 4x4 system as another thing to possibly fail when I was paranoid post-Alhambra

Top end of budget, but I see much appeal in slightly shabby CX. Peak wafting.

I'd love a series 1 cx, owned one as my third car aged about 19, a 2400gti at that!

I agree, some very dull cars here being regarded as "classics" there is a lot of choice for up to £5k that is massively more interesting
Post some then.

How on earth is that reg 'valued at £1,000'? It just looks like your standard NI plate which can be had for £80

Yea I hoped we'd seen the back of people pretending NI reg's were private reg's, it was a bit of a 00s phenomenon
