In the case of things like the MG, I get it. And classic 80s/90s hot hatches. Or a nice old well-kept solid boat of a BMW or Merc. I really do get the appeal, and I love cars like that of all ages even if I wouldn't buy one myself.
But some of the cars posted here are about as unremarkable as it gets. There is absolutely nothing "classic" about them. If you just wanted a cheap runaround you'd be bonkers not to spend the same (or a little bit more.. or even less!) on something a decade newer and better in every single possible metric.
There's another thread similar to this for cars priced at £5-10k. I think you'd find more of what you consider "interesting" in that thread. Everything has got very expensive in the last couple of years, and these days there are plenty of unremarkable but well-preserved cars that used to be £995 but are now £2995. Blame coronavirus and lockdown mania, blame modern cars for being too dull, but cheap and "interesting" cars in decent condition are hard to find in 2021.

Really liking this 127

It's nice, but from the first photo it didn't strike me as quite right. A saloon Sport? Badge positioning? Ah, once I read on my suspicions were confirmed. It's a fake.https://www.tradeclassics.com/auctions/fiat/1977-f...
I had a black 127 Sport once, I absolutely loved it, then I managed to drive it in to someone else's Ford Granda and it didn't end well for the FIAT. I was only 18 at the time...

How on earth is that reg 'valued at £1,000'? It just looks like your standard NI plate which can be had for £80
Yea I hoped we'd seen the back of people pretending NI reg's were private reg's, it was a bit of a 00s phenomenon ElectricSoup said:

It's a 1998/99 Omagh reg so the vintage pushes the price up a bit; Norn Irners often like to get a 'period appropriate' reg for restorations and re-imports. But you can have XJI 6260 for £330Edited by FA57REN on Monday 8th March 16:48

Decent performance, nice period colour, low mileage, realistic price. Good find.
