Sebrings are awful to drive, and I think it takes a special person to drive a PT Cruiser, let alone a soft top one laugh
True but the brief was a list of 4 seat convertibles not made by the usual suspects wink
Yes - "different" covers some horrors

I like the idea of the Rambler but not in white, off to google

Slightly OT but has anyone seen a 4 seat convertible, or suggest one in line with the thread ?

To make things harder I don't want a Saab, BMW, Merc or Audi I'd like something different

I'm thinking Jeep, I seem to remember there were some rare Pajero / Rav4 that were convertible or a Yank

Jimny is too small / slow, it seems a Wrangler / Renegade is out of budget
I really like this. God knows why.

from the article https://www.pistonheads.com/buy/listing/11420386
I know what you mean, there's something strangely appealing about the Eos, and with the 3.2, at that price
also it's not silver...
probably get it for thread budget

I have an A2 and they are brilliantly well thought out and well built cars but I paid less than £2k for mine 3 years ago. This particular example might be a rare colour but it's base spec the wheel trims and black door handles which was never sold I the UK so this one probably came from Ireland.

Someone will buy it at that money but is it worth it, no way.

I know they're cheaply built old hire car fodder, but I think in white on these wheels it looks great as a summer cruiser. Just needs to be a bit lower.

Didn't Clarkson once call the Sebring the worst car ever made?

Centre console plastics have had a tough life.
Has Freddy Krueger been operating the handbrake and opening the ash tray.
Quite nice if the rest of the car is better cared for.

I sold one of those 18months ago, slightly more mileage for less than half that money. They're a great car for £2k but that's very strong money.

Interesting little slice of 90s nostalgia, and very rare, but £7k is very strong money for a posh Fiat Tempra!

Probably paid peanuts on a trade-in and chancing his arm. No chance, if you ask me.

I have suffered all manner of Chrysler as hire cars in the US, and they're absolutely pitiful by every metric.

Clarkson hyperbole aside that certainly is a contender for one of the worst cars I've ever driven; you can accept something from the Soviet Union being rubbish, or something built as part of an industrialisation programme in a developing nation, but for something as poor as the Sebring to come from a long established carmaker in an industrialised nation is truly woeful.

To see Chrysler, Fiat, Peugeot, Citroen, and their rag tag band of once great but now dead, dying, or totally devalued brands collected into one hoover bag of automotive detritus is almost funny. Like a World Leyland of utter crap.

Heartwarming to hear that maybe BL wasn't so much worse than (some of) their competitors. Ahead of their time, even !

If he think he'll get £7k for it why does he not whip the BBS wheels round for a repair.
