Is that even salvagable?
It'll be a 2 door rally car soon...
With 99.9% new components except for the VIN, which will be off this.
lets hope so, rotten as a pear. whoever MOTed that is dooooodddgggeeeee!
Edited to say that in some ways that is better as is than restored new.
The bubbles everywhere are pretty much how I remember that era of cars at 6 years old (I was ten).

There is a young(ish) guy in our town who blasts around in a mk2 4 door with the rear doors welded up to make it look like a 2 door - even has Sport stripes to complete the look.
it looks wrong from pretty much every angle except dead on rear and front
My mate had a genuine 4 door Sport back in the day. Orange with black stripes. Rare, and yes, looked odd. But they did make them. And all his doors functioned.

Oddly, the main place these use to rust was the strut top mounts yet these appear pretty solid

They've been overplated, it's why there is underseal slapped al over them. Guaranteed to be rotten underneath.

Check the sills for tinworm. If there isn't any they'll be made entirely of filler.

The first two Benz are out of thread budget, but am very tempted with the grey merc and the DS, am just waiting on a quote for shipping/import fees to see if its worthwhile.

The 306 GTI6 thread sent me off looking at 90s Pugs, and these two have turned up - a V6 wagon and a V6 coupe, you can have both for less than thread budget...

Beige with added beige wagon...

Grey with red coupe - love these seats...

I got a little bit excited about these lovely barges until I realised that transport home to Derbyshire might be a bit problematic.

And expensive!

Shame it's an auto as otherwise it's stunning. I think all the 406 coupes over here have turned into sheds as a result of values being too low for too long.

Ah yes, sorry ‘bout that biggrin

And I’m kinda glad the coupe is an auto - being a manual would have meant giving it thought - it’s only a 2hr flight away and then about 20 hours to drive home - as a V6 406 Coupe is on the Reasonably Priced Bucket List...

Some original alloys on that would look great.

Sills do need some inspection on these, this is how I know,

And wings,

And whatever that is,

Car looked great, no rust he said, been painted he said,

And it did this,
