Super cool, but I imagine completing the project would be a rather frustrating experience.

I like that.No MOT, and it's been sitting unused for 7-8 years so it'll need recommissioning. Maybe the price of £1000 is optimistic, depending on how much work it's going to need.
Picking this up in the next few days, Too good for the shed thread?
It's got the left over Carina E 1.8 7AFE engine (simple non interference), last owner has had it well over 15 years and it's been mot'd each year and now on 90K miles. Often garaged Aircon lovely and cold, a smidge under £800 so enough left for a new pipe and slippers!

Lovely, I had that saved on Autotrader. You've got a cracking one there.
Thanks, I think to most it's a dull old white goods Toyota (which I get to be fair!) but I just have a soft spot for this era and everything is pretty simple and solid. Not many crop up down south so had to check it out as it was so local, hopefully a little gem (looks it) that I can tidy/tinker with. On a brief ebay hunt parts seem very reasonable and plentiful so after a thorough inspection I might refresh some bits and bobs.
"Barn find" as he proceeds to show a picture of the field he pulled it from. I seriously hate how every car without an MOT has suddenly become a barn find, be interesting to see what this goes for though with it being a 1.6i

About 20 years ago, I bought a Toyota Carina II 1600 with 101k on the clock. Not many crop up down south so had to check it out as it was so local, hopefully a little gem (looks it) that I can tidy/tinker with. I wasn't expecting much but what a great car, it was almost like new, the way it drove. Well impressed and I sold it for a profit, too.

Yep, the way I see it all I stand to lose is credibility and respect I wasn't expecting much but what a great car, it was almost like new, the way it drove. Well impressed and I sold it for a profit, too.

Directional tyres on different ways front to back Will surely impact on-limit handling

These are a fun novelty, but I've never seen one out in the wild, and I can't imagine who might need or want one? It's attracting plenty of bids, so clearly there's strong demand for it!

Perhaps useful if you lived in one of those locations with a tidal access road.
