Alfa fest:

Lovely family sedan with racing power celebrates its 60th anniversary.

Shortest wheelbase in the 105-family: Zagato Junior 1300 / 1600.

Legendary badge. The 70s line up shaped the soundtrack of my youth. Alfetta and 105-series were my favorite street cars.

More of the 1978 930:

In the category 'most iconic car of the 70s' a 930 must be top-3.

The wing of wings. Uber wing. Picknick table.

My bro had a crush on the 930, albeit a red 3.3 litre. I preferred brutal Italian Lamborghini with angry V12 engines. Today I'd pick a 930 for a trip to the Alps.

And it's a wrap. Let's eat some miles.

Flashback of an April 2019 Speedgelb meeting:

Nice privateer innitiative to invite any owner of a Speedgelb Porsche to a C&C meeting.
This 964 Turbo was my favorite.

Did you ever saw a more handsome 996?

OK, no Speedgelb but any yellow within range gets my vote.

I think it's time for an international meeting.

Last bits form the monthly Classic Car Cruise Night meeting.
Here's he May 22 meet:

For me this wonderful Citroen Traction Avant (1934 - 1957) had to be one of the absolute highlights of the display.

The inside is delightfully spacious. Imagine cars were still like this: 50 mph is nuff!

Woooop: delughtful French bred Renault Alpine A310 on TRX Michelin.

A classic Mini appears to be higher than a 964... A lowered 964 for all that manners.

Chevelle SS on bling wheels and in woooop hue.

Super rare W110 Heckflosse Binz 190Dc:

The details are so delightful to watch. And yes, I enjoy this more than any Italian supercar of that period. Patina is just gorgeous to me.

The seats of this thing equal a period Maserati GT in comfort. It really does.

With 55 ps this thing won't break any 'Ring records but boy what a ride...

This absolute gem of a car will be featured in a mag near you soon.

Metropole Druten visit:

1908 Floretta Itala Grand Prix with 12 litre four 100 ps.

1952 chassis 0221EL Ferrari 212 Inter Coupe by Vignale, 170 ps 2,6 litre V12.

Former King of Jordan 1939 Mercedes-Benz 540K Cabriolet.

1972 Alfa Romeo Montreal, 2,6 litre 200 ps V8. Not many know there seems to be only a handful Montreals equipped with a 3 litre V8.

16 Oct 2022 60 yrs of 105-series / Van Neerijnen yard:

1973 Junior GT 1300 with go-faster bits added.

Rear of that GT 1300 Junior. Appropriate window sticker.

1978 Giulia 1300 Super has to be one of the last. IMO the best choice of wheels.

This one gets my vote: excellent choice of colour, superb stance and spotless.

1972 Giulia 1300 super on steelies. Back in the day I was particulary enchated by the soundbyte and the metal typography.
Still am actually!

April 2022 Cars & Coffee

Excalibur is the Liberace of classic cars.

1959 Austin Healey Mk1 3 litre jewel. Looked like a fine restoration.

1983 Porsche 911 SC in Guards Red. Liking this a lot.

The famous Joost Hermes 911 G in and out blackness. Pretty cool 912 is a DauwtrappeRS regular too.

Metropole (Druten, NL) visit:

1967 Mazda Cosmo 110 S coupe. It's small! Only 343 series 1 produced.

Invicta 4,5 Litre S-type 'Low Chassis' Sports, 1931. The only Works Invica you will find...

Mercedes Benz SSK 'Black Bear', 1929. One of 33 built and only 5 survived.

amongst a variety of classic cars - some really special - are a handful of more modest 60s and 70s cars. And a collection of mopeds and bikes. No idea about this one cylinder special.

Pegaso Z102 Touring Berlinetta, 1954. Between 1951 and 1958 only 85 Pegaso cars were built. It's always very special to encounter one. This 2.8 V8 Supperlegerra was the fastest production car in 1951. The Saoutchik Pegaso in the Louwman Museum has to be my favorite.

Nice combi of two trusted and legendary estate cars:

The amazing s123 was the first real Mercedes-Benz Estate, or Wagon. This first owner car, the second owner keeps it for a decade now, is a three litre five pot diesel boasting 85 ps. I am so in love...

We found a nice spot to catch the autumn light and the car. In my eye this is the perfect daily classic.

Wow and wow to this truly unique w110 by Binz.

Good looking details are typical 60s chique. This w110 by Binz - one of only 188 - has enough goodies to enjoy.

It's not easy to find similar wheels but the owner succeeded. Patina makes it work even better.

An Alfaclub SCARB meeting at ace Alfa Romeo garage Alfa Romeo specialist van Neerijnen in Utrecht: celebrating 60 years of Alfa Romeo Giulia, the birth of the famed 105-series. October 16th 2022.

Fast road spec Giulia caught my eye.

Perfect courtyard for a gathering like this.

Lovely details.

Workshop has this timeless atmosphere I like so much.

AMG GT R 2017:

GT Roadster pops out a healthy and loud 450 ps in standard guise. Nuff for me.

Beautiful and practical: AMG hits the spot where BMW and Audi miss out.

For me the tall wheels could loose an inch or two but hey: how good does this look?

Interclassics MECC 2023: lots of 50s and 60s jewellry to enjoy.

Healeys, Astons, Alfa and Ferrari. Youngtimers are taking over.

I have a soft spot for OSCA, Simca, Abarth, small Alfa and Lancia and, of course, Fiat.

Famous badge describes the adventurous lifestyle. Folks who drive their Alfa too carefull will end up with a dead car.

At the 2022 Soestdijk display this drop dead gorgeous Pur Sang Argentina replica made me drool. And I was not the only one.

The Tachyon Motorsport Alfa 75 V6 rallye gun has a pretty hard life and the way I see it the diff and box of this transaxle gem are allowed to drip after a tiring season.

More Interclassics MECC 2023:

The Brooks Classics display was shared with Tachyon Motorsport. Highlight for me was this very early Maserati Ghibli 4.7 dated 1967 and thus my age. This matching numbers example is the version with drop-down trunk. And in Burgundy it has my name written all over it.

More on the early Ghibli: in the 60s Giorgetto Giugiaro penned down quite a few pretty cars and the Ghibli is recognized as his masterstroke. Technically sound it is too: Alfieri Maserati build a well-balanced sports car with the DOHC V8 placed between the driver and the front axle. More yum: racy dry-sump lubrication system, double-disc transmission, disc brakes all round and no power steering for maximum feel. What is not to like?

Recently sold is this 1969 Primrose Yellow 4.2 E-type. Love the steelies!

Quite a few handsome small Italians at display here and there. Fourpot Abarths tick all my boxes. I can smell how it sounds...

Dunno the garage/workshop but this Fiat 500 Giardiniera with giant hole in the roof made us smile.

Autumn 2022 60 years of Alfa Romeo Giulia meet:

Alfa Giulia 1600 Super Biscione in all its glory

Lovely 60s and 70s details

Interior to die for: this is a 70s Giulia dash with the plastic bits and vinyl seats. Gorgeous.

Bumperless Giulia nose adds to the fast street cred.

Last October encouter with two post war Benz highlights.
And diesels! Left a mint two owner s123 NA 3 litre fivepot and right an extremely rare w110 190d built by Binz.

This is gorgeous in so many ways. Massive grey steel shell oozes quality and the 55 ps diesel has no problem travelling at comfortable speeds.

Just look at it: perfection from the early 80s and I can't think of a better way to haul stuff. Imagine the joy of a holiday home somewhere near the Mediterranean.

Looking for a decent backdrop we found this afternoon lit open space with the benefit of reflection by tall glass houses.
