Presumably, like JLR, Toyota have concluded there isn't actually that much of a market for that kind of a vehicle here.

Hold on, though. He also said he wanted seating for 4/5. You ever looked in the back of a SWB Landy?
4 in the back, 3 in the front, a load of tools on the floor in the back and a fuel bowser behind.
Two in the front of any recent Defender. Even on ones with three, the third has to be an amputee anorexic. And the rear seats are side-facing, with all the comfort of a spike.
Rear seats are fine, especially off road or on a site. I've done loads of miles sitting in the back of such vehicles.

Back of mine, it's an 88, not a 90. Plenty of room for 4 adults on the side seats.

Exactly the same as my own s3 88" SW.

Well, at least we know what the issue with the Defender was. It wasn't that it was a problem to keep it compliant with EU automotive regulations but it's clear breach of the European Human Rights Act. biggrin

Haha, there was a fair few articles within the last few years of insurers refusing to insure side mounted bench seats due to the almost guaranteed life changing injuries as a result of a low speed front end collision.

I'd still have them though. biggrin, or if I had any care for safety a rear facing seat.
