Years ago my wife bought an ex-Avis rental fiesta in blue with a number plate of T788PTT (or similar) from a ford dealer in Colindale.

A few years later we still owned it and I was surprised to see a strange man driving it down our road in Hatfield which isn't that close to Colindale of course but I then noticed the reg was T789PTT.

Bit freaky that it was down our road, same colour and a 3 door as was ours not to mention the close reg numbers.

Here's a couple of cars local me;

The two Audis in the top picture are 08 plates, that's the only similarity I can see. I think the owners must have actually bought those plates, but I've no idea what they're trying to show!

The Range Rover and Audi below are just bad, bad, bad

AR08 YLR
LR08 YAR

They're using the same digits, just swapping out the first and sixth digit.

I get that, somehow I didn't word it too well! My fault for sure

Just that they're not really consecutive (one from Norwich, one from London) and they're just properly crap plates in general.

"Collecting number plates is nothing new. Probably the most famous collection of all was that owned by Sir Gerald Nabarro. Over many years he managed to acquire an astonishing seven consecutive ‘NAB’ numbers, (from 1- 7) for his classic cars".

Present car was bought from a dealer as a used model , and from history was a lease vehicle. It's reg is XX04XXD. Next to it ,identical model in identical colour on forecourt was XX04XXC. Only difference was mileage on the two -mine was lower.

My father and I have the following plates on our cars:

LJ52LEN
LJ54LEN

Am tempted to get LJ53LEN, he's got a few other cars so trying to get him to pay for it though hehe

Years ago my parents had at the same time:

P41CUD
P14CUD

Did cause a bit of confusion.

Yes, our vans at work are consecutive. We have 3 or 4...
Same, although they're not consecutive our work vans also have very close number plates.

My work car in Georgia is LG992GL, my friend has LG990GL and LG991GL is a pool car at the office.

Mine and my friends is regularly parked next to each other. Will try get a photo of all three when he's back in work.

I expect there are quite a few like this at work as they tend to buy 3 ~ 5 white land cruisers in one go.

When my Dad had Rover company cars in the 90's, he had a brand new Rover 620 SDI that was P833LOH, then my Mum ordered her new car not long after, Rover 220 SDI and managed to get P832LOH

No pics unfortunately as I was 11 at the time :-/
