In the early 90s myself and my girlfriend had cars - an Escort and a Fiesta - with consecutive number places (B322 and B323 with the same letters - OVC I think) both bought 2nd hand before we knew each other.

My work car in Georgia is LG992GL, my friend has LG990GL and LG991GL is a pool car at the office.

Mine and my friends is regularly parked next to each other.
I hope you park in numerical order!
Taken at the weekend at my friends house. I just need to get the pool car in between them at some point.

I was once behind an identical Ford Focus in Wakefield which was just one number higher than mine. It was an ex-hire car I so guess a number of identical cars were registered at once.

My Discovery

A Defender spotted this weekend

Registered 3 days apart. Nice to see they're both still going strong after over 27 years

Best one for me was about 5 years or so ago when I MOT'd my VW Polo (reg KU53 ECA). The car booked in the next time slot that day was a VW Passat with the exact next reg number, KU53 ECB. Pretty remarkable when you have multiple MOT stations to choose from up to 30 days in advance and the two cars managed to be done one after the other.

Best I have on camera is when my Kia Cee'd bumped into another one at work:

I bought a 3.0V6 Alfa Spider 4 years ago. At the time the registration didn't stand out as being significant but it suddenly clicked that X917ARD was just one digit away from the type number, 916. Sure enough further searching suggested that AR UK registered the first six 916 series 3.0V6 Spiders in December 2000 ranging 914-919. I'd still like to know who's got X916ARD!

Not sequential but this thread has reminded me of something in the mid 80's.

Dad bought new in 1986 a light blue Honda Accord EX registration C770 PDP. I was driving a few miles away from home and ended up following my 'Dad's' car. I couldn't work out why on a weekday, in the middle of the day, he wasn't at work. I then noticed it wasn't my Dad driving! Just before I attempted a citizen's arrest, I noticed the registration was C777 PDP.

...and chances are the other owners weren't bearded enough to realise. As I wasn't. Took three reads to realise what the relevance was. laugh

About 20 years ago there was a blue Mini 35 doing the Mini club shows - M120 TET. I never managed to find the owner to tell him I had it's twin - M119 TET in my garage. Still got it, hasn't moved for 18 years now. I see M120 hasn't been on the road since it's last MoT ran out in 2015 and I often wonder if it's still with us or gone to the great car show in the sky.

When I had my black Corrado G60 with cream/beige interior, the reg was J492 GCD. There was a chap on the Corrado forum, Furkz I think, and his black Corrado G69 with cream/beige interior was J491 GCD. Unfortunately never managed a meet together to get a pic (geography) but still quite close.
