It's one of the bonuses you get with the electric handbrake so loved by motor manufacturers today - a surprise free ride off a cliff edge when you were least expecting it!
That might have been the case it was an electric brake. It's a proper one but either way it seems as if Hyundai have an issue with weak parking brakes.

Smiler.

Rental van. Four wheels off road. Diagonal. Wheels turned out. Next to crossing point. Mirrors if not bent forward by passer by already would have been extra point. 4.7/5

This towering throbber in the supermarket today.

Shame he wasn't blocked in.
I just bought a T5, the "community" is very protective of their vehicles and they must be slightly different to the next T5.
T5 ? And are we not all protective of our vehicles.? No excuse for parking like that.

Why is there an extra large baby's bottle in the road?

Kina ironic. Hopefully if a blind person was to come along they'd beat the van with the stick trying to find a way round.

Road on the left of the picture goes straight on in front and behind me but where the RR is parked a side road intercepts with it.

I have genuinely no idea how he managed to park his offside front wing so close to the bollard, it must have been less than an inch clearance.

Never mind, I'm sure there must be something in the Highway Code about parking facing the wrong way at night on the corner of a T-junction...

If you have a giant 4x4 you may need to take up two parking spaces. But at least try to make an effort to park straight and there's really no need to take up four in a crowded carpark.

I think we may have another thread winner here...spot the illegally parked car.

Some of Birmingham's finest drivers in action. Yes, even the gold Prius is parked illegally over the junction (hands up if you thought the empty car was turning left?)

It wouldn't have been so bad had it not been that as I was leaving an ambulance came up the side road with blue flashing lights and couldn't get out the junction because of the way the cars were blocking it and the road it had come up is obviously one way so couldn't reverse either.

Odd, the no entry sign and keep right, if it's a no entry, then the car on the right is facing the wrong way.

The Renault does not approve of that parking

Was it an electric handbrake failure? Or was it a failure to use the handbrake?
I'm 99.9% sure the IX35 has a manual handbrake. No excuse though as it should have been left in gear for redundancy. On the plus side, one less faux-by-four on the road.

I feel you, brother hehe

Edit: not in Australia, so flipped the photo right-side-up.

Edit the second: I'm parked in the centre of the bay (local Lexus dealer has huge wide spaces (although not disabled bays) but hang over the end a few feet...)
