Had an experience when I was with BA. Off the runway, just onto the grass verge while taxying. Had to be dug out. Everybody walked away unscathed. Nothing like the Turkish incident, more embarrassing really.

Ok, I was using that as irony...

It is also clear that the forward parkers hit the railing a lot more often than the reverse parkers, given the two likely approaches to that post. If it was equal you'd expect the thing to be battered but upright.
