The space is the problem there. If the driver is a wheelchair user, parking by the kerb would mean getting out (a level transfer) wouldn't be possible, or even if they need a flat surface to get out on to; reverse in and as there's no extra width, if someone parks in the next space, they may well not be able to get back in their car. There's a space like this in my village, but narrower. Don't give paint to people who don't know what they're doing.

Must be a thing?

Are these diamond shaped number plates a new thing? First started noticing them on the Urus, but more recently spotted them on badly modded Audis and Fiestas...

Agreed, my uncle has been in a wheelchair for longer than I've been alive. He drove me to several places one day and you get new respect and understanding for how they get through the day. He was also very capable and athletic. How people who are less capable do it I still can't wrap my head around.

yeh there are disabled (reserved for disabled) and disabled suitable for all disabled. The two are not necessarily the same. That is an example of the former, used possibly by an example of the latter.

Daily moan, ignorant ICE drivers who not only abandoning their car in one of two EV bays, but make it just about impossible for another EV to get in, almost empty car park as well.

Almost certainly locals who know only too well they are EV bays.

My numerous emails and posts on theCouncil website paid off, it seems…

Would 'EV CHARGING ONLY' not have been better wording?
Yes. I also think the wording is wrong.

They are spaces reserved for Evs that need to charge because the other spaces have no charging points.

Once’s charged they should move on and let the next uncharged car have a turn.

I foresee a myriad of handbag moments if people with EVs just view them as reserved parking spaces.

No EV is going to get fully charged on the 7kW charger like those pictured and which are the normal ones you find in car parks.

You could leave most EVs there for hours and it wouldn't be full, and in the occasional circumstance that it is, do you really expect someone to break off from shopping, or dash out of the restaurant or cinema to move their car?

Tesla often restrict charging time.

Otherwise…

Why wouldn't you? Would you leave a car at a petrol pump for hours while you go off and do your shopping or go to the cinema?

If you know, and I believe most would know and I believe it tells you on the dash, your car wouldn’t be fully charged in three hours, then plug in, get a ticket for three hours, and come back in three hours and leave.

Never known a petrol pump to take hours to fill and you be able to leave the car filling whilst you go off to a restaurant or cinema, but other than that your analogy works fine.

I used to have a Tvr Chimaera. Every time you tried to go more than a trickle it would click off. Annoying but it took so long to put petrol in it.

Love seeing Lamborghinis out in the wild, as do the kids. But lads, no need to park in the disabled bays.

Parked here for 24 hours or more. You can see the entrance to the side road begins just after the front wheel. Incredible.
