Pretty bad parking. Guess that's what happens when you drink and drive.

So why not get the little angel to walk further, article says nothing about the child being disabledhttps://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-6297435/D...

Having said that, blue badge holders can park in some odd places, not sure if DYL's are one of them.P,S. Just read the article it says "'Do not park where it would endanger, inconvenience or obstruct pedestrians or other road users. Examples of dangerous or obstructive parking include the following, although there are others:
'School entrances, bus stops, on a bend, or near the brow of a hill or hump bridge.
'Parking opposite or within 10 metres (32 feet) of a junction, except in an authorised parking space."
So that sorts that out then. She is wrong.
In the article she said she was 20 metres from the junction, TWENTY, what she on!

Yes, to DYLs, except where there are loading restrictions or causing an obstruction, and in London. Not sure what the odd places are Article said she'd been offered a space in the school grounds because of her disability.

I think the school were right to call her out on it disabled or not. She is selfish. The whole point of those double yellows are to protect the visibility of the junction and by parking there (disabled badge or not) she's obstructing. I fundamentally disagree with disabled badge holders parking on DYL but that's a whole new topic - SYL yes, not DYL.vikingaero said:

'I'm a disabled driver and have a Blue Badge which allows me to park on double yellow lines.
'I know the double yellows are there to protect the junction, but where I park, there is still a clear 20 metres behind where I'm parked to Mottrams Close which is a cul-de-sac.
14.5 metres from the end of the double yellow lines to Mottrams Close. A Q5 is longer than 4 metres, so actually, there wasn't even a clear 10 metres behind her.

Used to live near there. Place is full of entitled tts. Doesn't really surprise me what car it is either, parking that close to a junction and school severely limits visibility especially from a car so huge.https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-6297435/D...

Odd zig zags, probably not enforceable if not correct. Although it's obvious what they are for, isn't it?Any signage I wonder, any idea what street this is?

Good find. Whatever the legal stand is, you will always have these me me me rules don't apply to me buggers who insist in dropping their little angels off outside the gates.
I like the idea mooted elsewhere on PH of forbidding parking or waiting (including drop-offs and pick-ups) within say 500m of the school gates - unless the child (not the parent) is disabled, of course.Gassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
