Blocking a delivery lorry for 4 hours: https://www.cambridge-news.co.uk/news/local-news/s...
It's bad parking as it's blocking the drop curb and the bend but there doesn't seem to be any visible restrictions so can understand why you might think it's ok to leave it there.
It does look like a few double yellow lines are needed

A great effort from this BMW driver to squeeze into this gap:

Must have been quite an effort to actually get out the car itself. A quite excellent below the line comment in a calm and measured fashion too.

One of four cars parked in disabled bays without displaying a blue badge. Half the bays.

Of course this driver might have forgotten to display, and might even have left extra room for their troubled passenger, but I am sceptical since rain appears to exacerbate misplaced feelings of entitlement every time in this supermarket car park.

The additional straight line painted through one side of the logo circle is almost as irritating as the poorly parked car.

Perhaps they were trying to be smart and fit the tyres in the narrow 'slots' in the paint.. they still made a mess of it though laugh

I'm not going to agree with this one. Given the nature of the job they do they need to park AS CLOSE to the drop off/pick up point as possible.

would you want to do that job?

There are lots of jobs that I wouldnt want to do. No excuse for blocking the pavement that badly.

For a wheel chair? Mobility scooter? Double pushchair? And someone coming the other way? No obviously not, so yes this is in the correct thread.

Courtesy of the local Waitrose this afternoon. Quite a few spaces available all around the car park but for some reason the lady driving the mini decided it was best to park her car there instead.

Unless their drop off/collection point is that access hatch in the pavement then there seems to be plenty of scope for parking with more consideration for other road/pavement users.

Quite. It would only add a few steps to the security guard’s journey if the van was parked on the road so that the pavement could be used for its intended purpose.

There is a "no motor vehicles" road near me that contains in the Traffic Regulation Order an exemption if the vehicle is a "vehicle to be used for the purpose of delivering or collecting bullion, monies or securities to or from the Midland Bank PLC or the Trustees Savings Bank PLC"

If the company operating that van feels the need to park on that pavement, they should lobby the local highways authority for the necessary regulations to be made to permit them to do so.
