I really don't understand parents and their school parking antics. They have the same mentality as those who spend ages trying to park closest to the front door at the supermarket. I usually just throw it in the first reasonable space, and usually on the walk across the carpark to the store I pass them queueing up for their 'ideal' space.

My local primary is afflicted with the same morons. Come near 3pm they're parking literally around the roundabout at the end of the estate, often on the solid line enclosed chevrons, blocking up the road for anyone just trying to go about their day. Make the little sods walk if it's less than 30 minutes or so. It usually does kids good to walk off some 'school frustration' at the end of the day, rather than be bussed at high speed back to their PS4/XBox or whatever.

I live on a road next to a school. It's horrible.

"Could you please not park there? It's really dangerous."
"F*ck off! I'll park where I like!"

I've come close to getting a screwdriver and putting it through their tyres but ultimately thought better of it. I suspect it's the only way they'd take the hint, though.

Or drop them off in the next road. These parkers would soon moan if a kid walked out between parked cars on the zig zag and got hit by a car, who would probably not being paying attention, so intent on finding a space next to the gates.

Can't they start issuing £60 fines?
We are probably one of the furthest houses from the school. We are a mile away. We walk our daughter to and from school pretty much every day. The only odd time we don't is if we have an appointment or if our daughter is up late. Since starting school in September, we've only driven her to school a few times. When we do, we park away from the school and walk in.

We see so many people driving from literally around the corner from the school. They are much closer than we are.

Can we presume that the profanity is from the mouth of a mummy?

if you hang around outside your local train station around 6pm onwards, you can see them blocking the surrounding streets and access roads all over again.
Except this time, it will be their other half that cannot walk around the corner.

We had one the other day, who dumped their car across the car park exit, so they could wander off to get a coffee from Starbucks while they were waiting.

Another self centered me me me I will park where I want tosser, busy time of this year, and notice those spaces there are extra wide, there are a bunch of them in our local Sainsburys. I usually park on the end, reverse in close to the kerb, protecting the back and one side of my car, leaving max room on the drivers side.

So difficult to do I know. So this barsteward decides he needs two spaces, just wish I had a pad in the car, could have left him a polite note.

Fekking moran. Rant over.

Oh and before anyone comments, thats my Volvo on the left, and yes, there was a car behind me when I reversed in.

Yellow zigzags are a council issue, and sadly, you never see a council traffic warden outside a school.

Found this on another site.

As a police officer, I once headed an operation in the Manchester area regarding school road safety and Zig-Zags. Controlled areas outside schools are normally accompanied by a qualification plate giving the times of restriction. Times of restriction are generally 8.00am til 5.00pm and Additional times. The Additional times normally mean anytime the school is in session (parents evenings, summer fetes etc). In the absence of a plate, the markings can be enforced whilst school is in session, this includes during times like Breakfast Clubs and after school activities.

Parking or stopping within the confines during the restricted period is an endorsable offence.

So maybe try local plod, see what can be done.

It's almost a daily occurrence now, park on DYL's blocking the dropped kerb as it's the shortest distance for the ignorant, usually FB's, from car to shop door. There is a car park behind the shop as well.

Not saying it's acceptable parking but is that a wheelchair in the boot? Maybe they parked that far out so the passenger could get into a mobility scooter or something.
