Technically, I suppose they should be treated the same simply due to the lack of reflectors mounted on the side of the bikes. But I suspect the practicalities of the things potentially falling over due to the camber of the road outweighs this. But the Smart driver is a numpty.

Mine are still on my bikes An unscientific check of autotrader of Fireblades shows of 2017 bikes (ignoring stock photos and non-real bikes) about 25% have them removed. Go back to 2010 and it's 100%.
