I've lived outside a school on a couple of occasions (not my choice!) and the over whelming majority of the parents (usually women) are some of the most selfish s i've ever come across.
Did not give two fks where they parked, who they blocked or inconvenienced.
Even more annoyingly, they'd start turning up an hour before the kids actually knocked off so they could sit on their phones first.

Literal morons.

That's not as bad as some at the school near me. There are some people who drive there at lunchtime, leave the car outside the school in a "good" place (i.e. as close to the school gate as possible), and walk the 300 yards back home.

They are fking vile if challenged too. One of the schools near me had traffic wardens in for a few weeks to try to put a stop to it, and you could hear the screeching or these harpie women from a mile away.

I used to have to drive over about 5 sets of ridiculously high speed bumps (Won’t someone PLEASE think of the children!) every time I wanted to get to my house and you can guarantee the only people you’d see speeding along outside the school was the bloody mothers on the school run.

There is a new build estate next to my grandson's school. Nicely designed, tree lined etc. At school drop off and pick up, every available space, nook and cranny is filled. I feel sorry for the residents.

Got to think these things through when you’re buying a home.

We looked at a house a couple of doors down from a school during the summer holidays. It was lovely and quiet, loads of parking and a view over the playing fields from the rear of the house. It was also on a cul-de-sac, with a small grassed roundabout at the end. I imagine it would be chaos during term time.

Saw this on my dog walk earlier today. The parking round there is normally pretty bad, due to the offices to the left of the pic, but they do take the p155 sometimes. What you can't see in the pic is the state of the grass verge on the corner behind the car. It is absolutely trashed from all the vans and bin lorries having to cut the corner to avoid the inconsiderately parked cars rolleyes

Duct tape on window, "Don't park here", it's a bugger to get it off, crushers used to use that in the mob.

The Range Rover would be a great effort if it was in the dirty cars thread

To put this into context , this is the rest of the road today at the same time . So it is not as though there is nowhere to park , just laziness .
Once the school gates close then the road is all but deserted

Maybe. It depends on how far you want to take ' poor parking outside schools'.drivingdriving:drivingteacher:grumpy
