I’m hoping that it was deliberately left on someone’s drive without permission, and was pushed off into the street and left there, with any luck causing extensive damage to the gearbox etc.DoubleD said:

Yes, it looks like a driveway (forecourt?!) behind the car, but I wasnt talking about that bit of your post.
Oh, sorry. If you mean that I said that I hoped it incurred gearbox damage, I was thinking that the offending car may have been automatic, and if it had been left in Park, then towed or dragged off the driveway, that wouldn’t have done the gearbox much good.
Sorry if my imagination went a step too far, but I tend to think of automatic first with cars, I can’t remember the last manual that I owned, and I wouldn’t have one as a gift, so they rarely come into my stream of consciousness.
I've just seen the lad.
His excuse "There was nowhere else to park."
There is a car park less than 300m away.
His response "I have to pay to park there." I told him a couple of quid to park may turn out a lot cheaper than a parking ticket.
I'm one of the younger people on our road. It's pensioner central, one with ME so mobility scooters are common.
I've reported it all via 101 (someone coming round to see me tomorrow apparently) and another neighbor to the council.

Probably has no idea how to either parallel park, or reverse park.
There's a towbar on the back. I wonder what would have happened if I strapped it to the Landy and parked it in the police station carpark?Needing the Coastguard to recover your 'parked' car

Amazed by the number of people defending this or saying pedestrians should just cross over.
I'm not the OP BTW, just an incredulous reader.
There used to be a lot of posting of bad parking photos on our local Facebook group, but people seem to have stopped, due to the amount of abuse they received I think (especially if the owner of the vehicle happened to be a member of the group).I'm not the OP BTW, just an incredulous reader.
Most of the usual comments seem to be in that thread "ambulances need to get by", "just doing his job" etc. Although I see it's missing "what if the driver is disabled and can't walk very far?"
Although I have no sympathy for cars parked blocking the pavement, I am kind of in two minds when it comes to vans, especially when they're delivering stuff. If you've got something heavy or bulky to deliver, and there's nowhere to park nearby, what are you meant to do? Having said that, it looks like the van in that picture is just parked up for the day...
