I can’t see any lights on that crossing, so I am guessing it may be out of use and that the controlled area is not in effect. There are cars parked on the other side on the approach to the crossing which would be a more serious offence, but if the zigzags ought to be ignored then it doesn’t seem an unreasonable place to park.

If this is the case then the council should have obliterated the road markings and put orange bags over the light poles or similar.
It's not an area an area I'm familiar with but you're right, no lights, none on Streetview either:

Very odd, I was there yesterday, it looked nothing like the image in your "now" Streetview from May 2017 and a lot like the "old picture is old" one I shared from the Streetview visit in April 2019:

https://goo.gl/maps/RScjGYhvhEsXkfb9A

The Streetview car seems to have had some kind of issue so the 2019 updates aren't showing on the slider to move the date back and forth, if you choose a different section of road it goes back to 2017 but some are the newer ones that are definitely more reflective of what my eyes saw yesterday, albeit with more cars parked up.

This is the car park I mentioned in a previous post.

Obviously if there's a separate entry and exit you only need the one if a self important person feels they need to use one as a parking space.

In the background you can see a grey Seat SUV thing and a white Dacia, both parked at the end of a row of actual spaces in a gap that is now too narrow for cars to reverse out of spaces at the far end, and difficult to get a bigger vehicle round to the bottom end of the car park.

I noticed this on a taxi website, that my sister-in-law was researching, I can’t say for sure, but I get the distinct feeling that the yellow VW is not a taxi, there’s hardly room for a meter, let alone any passengers.

No spaces left?
Just use the pavement instead. hehe

How thick are people getting nowadays? They see one person park like an absolute tard, so then monkey see monkey do they have to do the same.

Tonights offering
Parked across 2 disabled bays and inside the Co-op shopping.

The rest of the fairly large car park was empty but no, let's park like a twut

I wonder how much of a telling off I would have got for doing the same thing...

No idea why the pic won't work.. But it's a police car anyway..

You linked the gallery (page) rather than the actual image. An image link will generally end .jpeg, .jpg, .png, .gif or similar. Here you go (now resized and cropped to a more forum-friendly size):

I think you can rest assured that there will not be a sudden swam of disabled drivers needing those two spaces (out of how many ?) at that time of night so the driver can carry on with his/her duties this time.

I can’t see the photo, but any criticism of police parking posted in speed plod and the law section, normally results in horrific abuse by the resident police and a character named vonhossen.

It was a bit tongue in cheek not a dig at you. Apologies.

Oh fair enough!

No life's to short to make an entire thread about it..
Thought this was a more suitable thread for it

Not sure I have a particular problem with that.
As you point out, plenty of spaces and it's parked a fair distance from the entrance.
In the spirit of the thread though....it is badly parked.
