I usually reverse into a bay with nothing behind it, i.e. bushes etc, but if I have to reverse into a bay like this one, (I never ever drive in), I always get out and look in case I am overhanging the bay behind me, not exactly rocket science, and you never know when. PH is lurking biggrin
I’m with you on the never driving in, (unless at a supermarket, where access to the boot will be required), I’ve seen people of both sexes take 3, 4, or 5 bites at driving into an easy spot, which they probably could have reversed into in one go.

Ever increasingly the case.
The prevailing sentiment of the police is that they aren’t one of us.

This is what happens when you become a police state.
You honestly think we're a police state?

Priceless.

Just leave it on the roundabout and the double yellows but it's OK because you've put your hazards on

It gets on my tits people who think it’s ok to park wherever they want if they put their hazards on. tts.

Yeah fk it, just park it right on the footpath, not like the car park was virtually empty.

Plenty of people who visit the Trafford Centre at the weekends think that’s acceptable. Bunch of tw@s.

The double yellow line applies from the property curtilage up to the road, so yes parking there is no different from parking on the road as they are both covered by the double yellow lines.

what a nonsense, how can anything parked adjacent to and off the road, be impeding the flow of traffic or causing a danger? (apart from pedestrians of course)

To avoid people parking entirely on the pavement to avoid the yellow lines!

Because it is causing a danger by impeding the flow of pedestrians. Don't they count?

This seems to be fairly obvious to most of us.

As already pointed out, the road starts where the wall ends. It's just that part of the road has a designated area solely for the use of pedestrians. The road has double yellow lines on it. The area designated solely for the use of pedestrians has a van on it.
It's a twofer and worthy of a place in this thread if not a ticket.

It doesn't just need a ticket, it needs to be towed away asap.

Someone I know uses a wheelchair. On one road were this was common, he once went up to someone's door to get them to move their car off the pavement.
