This qualifies - It's yet another on my road, but it often has cars, vans and large vans (and 10 minutes before this tesco delivery) that use the road quite a lot (to the left, it's a dead end about 25 yards further on)

And all the spaces on the other side were there when he (very carefully) parked up...

What is this obsession with some people about reversing into a space. What if you have a full trolley and dont fancy banging shopping against your or others cars. Surely if you can’t reverse out of a quote “very wide space” then frankly you should t be driving. Assuming I haven’t missed a parrot of course in which case, my bad
I was looking at it for a while thinking “most cars are reversed”, then I spotted the sign at the top and it started to make sense.
They expect people to obey that sign. Good luck with that one. People aren’t even stopping having large house parties during a lockdown !!

I dont get it either. Neither way is tricky to park, so I dont think its a skill thing. As long as you maneuver slowly and look all around then I cant see how either are a safety issue.
It’s not an obsession with me, I just think that it’s much easier and safer to drive out of a parking space than to reverse out, and reversing in can usually be done in one go, whereas I’ve seen people take four or five back and forth shunts to drive into a space.
Sure, if I’m going to get a lot of supplies in a supermarket, I’ll drive in, to give access to the boot, but that aside, I’ll always reverse in, as does my wife, and it’s more than I’d dare do to advise her on how she should park.
And it doesn’t matter how slowly and carefully you back out of a space, there’s almost always someone who’ll walk past your rear bumper even though it’s obvious what you are doing, all the mirrors and head swivelling in the world won’t stop that..

Forcing people to walk onto the main road...best bit is that they just dump their car like that in front of their empty driveway. Genius.

The sign is way to big anyway.

What you need, is a tiny sign obscured by foliage. A force 9 gale. A CCTV system, watched by a fat, red welshman. The worlds worst tannoy system accessible by said welshman. Finally a door controlled by said low IQ welshman.

Now when you pull into the car park, and park front in. The welshman can scream and shout into the tannoy something you can't hear, to the point they are about to have an aneurism when you get to the door of the building. Where they will continue to shout into the useless tannoy system, refusing to unlock the door, or (presumably because of their amble girth) leave their seat and come to the door to explain. A standoff will now playout (welshman getting increasingly sweaty, bug eyed, and screaming at the microphone something unintelligible, visitor wondering just what kind of place this is), until another (slightly smarter) member of security staff happens along, opens the door and says, oh it's very windy isn't it, I guess you didn't hear Dave on the tannoy, you need to reverse park on our site.

Woke up to see this when I opened my curtains..

If they pulled forward approx 10ft there would be no problems as they would be parked infront of a small car sales place.
Aside from being half on the pavement, there's nothing wrong with their parking. You might prefer someone not to park there, but it's a public road, they're well past the dropped kerb, and not blocking your drive.
If you cant turn left, go right. I have had to do that at times where I live.
I have no desire to be contentious, but what about if you turn right, and you’re looking at a solid brick wall as the road ends 20 metres from your drive?
Let me guess, you’ll have to do a four or five point turn, to go in the direction that you wanted to, but couldn't, because someone was making life difficult, legally or otherwise.
Be glad you don't live in the US. There is no 30ft keeping clear of junction rule. tbf there are very few rules period when it comes to road safety over here. You'll see people parked on zebra crossings, hell I've seen people using the zebra crossing to undertake vehicles as in undertake along the zebra crossing...

So many large vehicles being driven by people lacking the ability to even round a corner means I wasn't shocked by all the cars that hadn't reversed in to the very wide spaces.

That doesn't mean I was any less disappointed though.

Thrashed to death, but some have trouble driving forwards as well smile

That one's a bit old for them to retail but they'll probably offer something in p/ex .

The not a real supercar comment was a bit of jokey sarcasm BTW .

Just about every visitor my neighbour gets they insist on parking like this, never any cars on the road either, I feel for our neighbour with a mobility scooter.

I just can't fathom the mentality.

He posts on PH. His username is "Vipers" I think. You've probably read his posts.
