I've never understood why the council don't send a squad of Traffic Wardens down to a school come drop of and pick up time, they would have a field day and soon enough the st parking would stop.
On a few occasions I observed a parking warden doing their job whilst I was waiting to pick up my daughters from school.
The entitled parents gave the parking warden a really hard time, and on a few occasions I saw it escalate quickly.
I did once speak to the warden as he passed me and he said that being there at school collection time was not pleasant and he often feared for his safety.

I asked our local traffic warden to take action at our local school, too busy, short staffed was the answer.

Turned up 2 weeks later on my street and ticketed all the builders' vans that were working at my house. fkers.

Not excusing it but I'll wager that the vast majority of the driving public won't be aware that obstructing a dropped kerb is a no-no.
I once politely said to a lady sitting in her car “Do you know your blocking a dropped kerb to which she said “There aren’t any signs”……….

Same place because it’s directly opposite the co-op door AND on DYL’s, a guy on his mobility was waiting to cross the road, so I asked in the shop who had a car blocking the dropped curb as someone was waiting to cross in their mobility scooter, a FB in the queue looked at me and said “I won’t be a minute”, I do despair at times.

St. Andrews - Saw it parked/abandoned the night before. Came out next morning and still there. Road starts to narrow just before where dumped.

Another four spaces gone.

Suppose why take two when you can take four.

At least he's not parked on double yellow lines.

I wonder if that would hold up against a ticket for double yellows. I'd imagine other rules would be enforceable

The lines apply building line to building line so yes.

Which Is why if i ran parking, Id send loads of wardens, with visible body cameras and fine the school run slags back to the stone age and aggressively prosecute any who assault the staff.

Entitled types need to be challenged to change their behaviour.

Why just pick on the school run though? I see plenty of bad parking outside people's homes that goes unchecked and those cars are there most of the time rather than for just a few minutes a day.

You have to be seriously stupid to get three tickets.
I was living in London and used to park my car over Hammersmith bridge to get free parking, as I did not use my car much. I once forgot and left it for 7 days on a road close to my flat, when a friend pointed it out to me.

I got 6 parking tickets and thought well at least it was not 7. Paid up as it was 50% cheaper to pay ASAP, then a few weeks later got a reminder for the 7th ticket and at full price. It must have either blew off or someone took it. FML

Its not that common for residential parking to completely block the road and cause total carnage - where it does, it should be targeted. School run parents often cause carnage with their parking with a complete no fks given attitude while the rest of the world has to wait for them to pick up their 'tard kid.

Targeting them first would help free up traffic flow and issues at least for both rush hours. Plus they are a visible and easy to get target.

I'd be tempted to get the Mrs to come down and park with me to block them in.

No problem for me with big pickups like that taking up 2 spaces as they often don't fit well, but no excuse to lazily dump it across 4 spaces!

They are an easy target. Your average piston header has a real dislike of the school run mum.

Targeting cars first that are pretty much permanently blocking traffic would be a much better idea.

A dislike for a good reason as well, carnage near us twice a day Monday to Friday from 7.45 till 8.30 and anything from 2.30 onwards the mummy’s turn up in Audi Q7 blocking pavements and roads till around 4.30 depending on what after school club little Timmy is in. I’ve accidentally knocked many a mirror back while squeezing last on the pavement. Ooops sorry

Having a large amount of repeat offenders in one place is an opportunity that shouldn’t be ignored.

Also I see no obvious evidence of anyone picking on school runs, so that opinion has no legs. Not unlike your opinion that everyone was somehow out to get SUV owners, despite the fact that loads of other cars are featured.

Yep, standard reply from a piston header with the made up name thrown in as well.
