No need for this at all.

Parking on the road would add a pain in the arse for those exiting their drive opposite
So they need to find somewhere better to park all round.
Well a bit of stalking via Google Maps and it turns out to be in Huddersfield and there is parking behind these properties so if this is a resident - they're a dick. If its a visitor, then the resident should advise better, and if its a 'random' then they did the best they could I suppose! But typical of a new estate thrown up with no thought to the fact most families will have at least 2 cars!

Curious how you managed to locate the street on google maps..... how long did it take?
About 60s seconds tops. There is a road name, if you search for that you get 3 results, for me it was the second one on the list (the order does change however so it may not be the same for everyone). Jump into google maps, spin round and Robert is your mothers brother.

What’s worse, even if it was tight, it was passenger door to passenger door so had zero impact on her ability to get into her own car. Absolute scum.

I have to say I have had to squeeze in my car with gaps like that when some egit parks way over their line leaving me a small gap to squeeze in, and I always hold the door to prevent contact, still good thing is she got caught.

Busy car park - parked like a twonk.

There are occasions when you park a van properly, you can't open the door enough to get out, both sides. It's happened to me a few times.

I don't know when parking space sizes were decided on, but I imagine it was a long time ago.

Often driven a van and I've never seen this issue for several reasons.

  1. While the average van is wider, because of the vertical seating and huge opening you just need a narrow gap to enter it.
  2. Easy to shuffle through to the other side if needed.
  3. Sliding doors on the side.
On the other hand, with an old dented van it's easy to completely block someone in without hindering yourself hehe

In this instance the van driver could have reversed into the space to his/her left and been free to open the driver's door over a walkway.

I've driven a van most days for the last 20+ years. Believe me, it is a thing.

1. Not if you can't open the door enough due to the next car being too close to the line.
2. Ditto #1
3. I do wish front sliding doors would make a comeback, but as far as I'm aware, they are on the side of the load compartment.

Obviously these days I look for a spot in the far corner of the car park where no car drivers go. Sometimes I think fcensoredk it and straddle the line. But only if far from the entrance, I do have a social conscience of sorts.

Left her dog in her car too. I know it’s not warm, but it's not terribly safe.

True.

But maybe the space was occupied when he/she/they parked.

Or maybe he/she/they have ME and it was just too much effort.

Just parked my car, this bloke drives up, abandons his car, plugs it in and goes shopping, and they wonder why cars get dinged….. before someone says it, yes it’s “shocking” biggrin

And just to add to this, some cheeky fker's painted their own 'parking space' on the pavement round the back as well!

Good shout. Giving myself a slap for not thinking it myself.
