This really gets my goat. I watched both drivers pull up, minutes of each other, park and walk off. Completely oblivious to their bellend selfishness. There’s possibly space for two other small cars if these two numpties hadn’t parked like that.

Essex Road, near two of my former locals. (The Queen’s Head and the New Rose) used to live almost next door to the Marquis just down the road.
The Marquess Tavern is our local too.
My wife and I had our first proper date there, when there was a posh dining room at the back and the bar in front.
Then we moved into the flat (Riverside House IIRC), our first place together. Sadly it went through a couple of landlords, decor changes and food styles and wasn’t quite the same.
Although there was always a good group of locals in there.
Was sad to leave about 7 years ago

In fairness, that sign is unbelievably unclear and ambiguous.

I mean, "PASSING PLACE. NO PARKING"... What does that even mean?

Giving cars coming from opposite directions the space to pass each other on a narrow road. At least, when the Passing Place is not completely filled with morons parking.

Hmmmm... Are you sure that's what it's for? Seems a stretch.

As Vince has said, it’s in the countryside on a narrow track only wide enough for 1 car. There are areas where the road is a bit wider to allow traffic coming from opposite directions to pass each other. The cars are parked there so any cars coming towards each other won’t be able to pass.

Do you understand now?

It's the monkey see monkey do mentality. They'll see some other div parked there so just assume they can do the same despite the very clear and obvious signage stating otherwise.

Sorry yes. I thought it was so obvious what "PASSING PLACE. NO PARKING" means that everyone would realise I was being sarcastic. hehe

Especially after the "it's a bit of a stretch" line.

Busy junction, so I'll park on the pavement and make everyone walk in the road.
10 feet in front of him is a car park.

Busy Salvation Army donation centre with a small car park, but why bother making any effort?

st for brains springs to mind, pic from local bad parking on FB and pic from google maps.

The car to the right is in a private car park, so assume it was full so they thought they would back up here and sod the pedestrians.

I just cannot comprehend how someone could possibly think that's OK or acceptable? I'd be struggling not to walk over that. I wouldn't of course, but my god I'd be very tempted. Even if I did, I'd still be less of a than they are.
